He demanded Bacardi open up its books and reveal the \u201clocation of all warehouses storing D\u2019USS\u00c9 barrels, bottles and accessories\u201d in order to \u201cprotect SC\u2019s rights.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>JAY-Z is accusing Bacardi of intentionally mismanaging D\u2019USS\u00c9 in an effort to purchase his 50 percent share at a discount. According to court documents, SC Liquor exercised its right to demand a buyout a year before the lawsuit was filed \u2013 which means Bacardi was obliged to come up with a fair price.<\/p>\n<p>However, Jay\u2019s company believes Bacardi\u2019s subsidiary, Empire Investments Inc., has been trying to \u201cstall and stonewall\u201d efforts that would reveal an accurate valuation of D\u2019USS\u00c9. The figure that Bacardi brought to the table was apparently \u201cwell below\u201d what JAY-Z had in mind.<\/p>\n<p>In response, Bacardi accused Hov of backing out of a \u201chandshake deal\u201d to sell his share to the company in December 2021.
