And in an excerpt from his memoir <em>Spare<\/em>, published by <em>Us Weekly<\/em> on Thursday, Harry recalled the moment<strong> King Charles III <\/strong>came to his room to reveal what h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ened to his mom. He wrote:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201c[Charles] sat down on the edge of the bed. He put a hand on my knee. Darling boy, Mummy\u2019s been in a car crash. I remember thinking: Crash \u2026 OK. But she\u2019s all right? Yes? I vividly remember that thought flashing through my mind. And I remember waiting patiently for Pa to confirm that indeed Mummy was all right. And I remember him not doing that.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<p><strong>Related: Prince Harry &amp; Prince William Begged Charles Not To Marry Camilla!<\/strong><\/p>\n<div style=\"min-height:120px;width:100%;float:none;\">\n<div id=\"section-63b82cc49e93b-paragraph-slot\" class=\"lazyload-unit\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>At the time, the prince struggled to understand that his mom had died, believing the doctors would \u201cfix\u201d her head wounds and he would see her \u201ctonight at the latest.\u201d However, that sadly wasn\u2019t the case. Harry explained he soon felt a \u201cshift internally\u201d when he realized Diana did not survive the medical \u201ccomplications\u201d and \u201chead injury\u201d she suffered from the accident:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI began silently pleading with Pa, or God, or both: No, no, no.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<p>Harry then shared what Charles said to him:<\/p>\n<div style=\"min-height:120px;width:100%;float:none;\">\n<div id=\"section-63b82cc49e940-paragraph-slot\" class=\"lazyload-unit\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cMummy was quite badly injured and taken to hospital, darling boy.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>While the <strong>Archewell<\/strong> founder doesn\u2019t remember some details from the rest of the conversation, including if Charles brought up the fact Diana was chased by paparazzi, he said certain words still \u201cremain in my heart like darts in a board.\u201d His dad continued to tell Harry:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cThey tried, darling boy. I\u2019m afraid she didn\u2019t make it. And then everything seemed to come to a stop.\u201d<\/p>\n<div style=\"min-height:120px;width:100%;float:none;\">\n<div id=\"section-63b82cc49e943-paragraph-slot\" class=\"lazyload-unit\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>So, so sad.<\/p>\n<p>But what makes this moment even more heartbreaking? Throughout the entire difficult conversation, Harry claimed the monarch never took a moment to \u201chug\u201d him:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cPa didn\u2019t hug me. He wasn\u2019t great at showing emotions under normal circumstances, how could he be expected to show them in such a crisis? But his hand did fall once more on my knee and he said: \u2018It\u2019s going to be OK.\u2019 That was quite a lot for him. Fatherly, hopeful, kind. And so very untrue.\u201d<\/p>\n<div style=\"min-height:120px;width:100%;float:none;\">\n<div id=\"section-63b82cc49e946-paragraph-slot\" class=\"lazyload-unit\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Oof. Elsewhere in the memoir, Harry opened up about how he tried to move on from the tragedy in dangerous ways. Years later, the <strong>BetterUP<\/strong> CIO said he returned to the <strong>Pont de l\u2019Alma<\/strong> tunnel where Diana died and drove through it at a fast speed:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cOff we went, weaving through traffic, cruising past the Ritz, where Mummy had her last meal, with her boyfriend, that August night. Then we came to the mouth of the tunnel. We zipped ahead, went over the lip at the tunnel\u2019s entrance, the bump that supposedly sent Mummy\u2019s Mercedes veering off course. But the lip was nothing. We barely felt it.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<p>Losing a parent is never easy \u2014 especially when he and <strong>Prince William <\/strong>were so young.
