According to the association\u2019s website, the group offered an examination addressing \u201cknowledge and skills common to all sanctions professionals in varied employment settings.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The blockchain industry is still in its early years, and it&#8217;s our priority to continue upholding the highest level of compliance amid a fast-evolving space,&#8221; said Binance&#8217;s global head of sanctions Chagri Poyraz. \u201cAt the end of the day, we want to continue setting the industry standard for security and compliance alongside other industry players.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\"><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Binance?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Binance<\/a> joins the Association of Certified Sanctions Specialists (ACSS).<\/p>\n<p>As the first crypto exchange to join the association, we aim to leverage ACSS training materials, databases, and networks to further compliance standards within the crypto industry.<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/uEOw147gke\">https:\/\/t.co\/uEOw147gke<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Binance (@binance) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/binance\/status\/1611366485217398785?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 6, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>Poyraz told Cointelegraph in October that the exchange was in compliance with multilateral sanctions on Russia following the country\u2019s invasion of Ukraine, but saw \u201croom for improvement when it comes to clarity\u201d in European Union guidelines on crypto. Reports have also suggested Binance may have\u00a0allowed Iran-based users access to certain services in violation of United States sanctions, prompting scrutiny from officials.<\/p>\n<p>According to Binance, the ACSS training will educate the exchange\u2019s team on guidelines from the U.S. Treasury\u2019s Office of Foreign Assets Control and inform them of potential risks of violations.
