Matt Gaetz and Lauren Boebert with his right hand raised and  pledged to uphold the Constitution along with other members of the 118th Congress as they were sworn in by newly-elected House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.  <\/p>\n<p>Republican gridlock over the selection of a House speaker delayed the Queens and Long Island representative\u2019s swearing-in for several days.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s unclear when Santos will pose for his ceremonial photo individually with Speaker McCarthy, as is customary following the official swearing-in.<\/p>\n<p>Now that Santos is officially New York\u2019s 3rd Congressional District representative, House members hold the power to kick him out of his seat.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The House can remove Santos by a two-thirds vote.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/01\/Santos-1.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"Santos is currently facing at least three criminal investigations.\" class=\"wp-image-25275644\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/01\/Santos-1.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1535 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/01\/Santos-1.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/01\/Santos-1.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>Santos is currently facing at least three criminal investigations.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">Rod Lamkey \u2013 CNP<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Federal prosecutors in the US Attorney\u2019s Office for the Eastern District of New York are reportedly probing the finances of the fibbing congressman, who\u2019s facing questions over the origins of his mysterious wealth.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The prosecutors are reportedly looking into the 34-year-old Long Island pol\u2019s financial disclosure filings where Santos reported earning $750,000 from his Devolder Organization consulting firm, along with dividends valued between $1 million and $5 million.<\/p>\n<p>In 2020, Santos reported making just $55,000 in annual salary and the filings also show that he loaned his own successful House campaign for New York\u2019s 3rd Congressional District more than $700,000.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Santos is also under a state investigation in New York, and Nassau County District Attorney Anne Donnelly announced last month that her office would be investigating Santos as well after he admitted to The Post about lying about virtually his entire resume.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/01\/george-santos-8.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"Disgraced New York Republican George Santos, who's facing at least three criminal investigations, was sworn into Congress early Saturday morning.\" class=\"wp-image-25275555\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/01\/george-santos-8.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1535 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/01\/george-santos-8.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/01\/george-santos-8.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>Rep.-elect George Santos (R-NY) watches proceedings during the fourth day of elections for Speaker of the House at the U.S. Capitol Building on January 06, 2023.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Santos told The Post last month that he never went to Baruch College, never worked at Goldman Sachs or Citigroup, isn\u2019t Jewish, and doesn\u2019t own any property \u2013 all claims he made on the campaign trail.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In his first few days in the Capitol Building, Santos has been given the cold shoulder by most lawmakers. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.). The two were spotted whispering to each other on the House floor and laughing at one another\u2019s comments.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>One member of New York\u2019s congressional delegation, however, has already called for him to resign.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBrazilian authorities are reopening the criminal case against George Santos, who committed fraud in Brazil. Santos is now the target of local, state, national, and international law enforcement. Santos should resign before disgracing himself any further,\u201d Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-N.Y.) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RitchieTorres\/status\/1610053627527266305?s=20&amp;t=OFpLba3XWGIePkJiDOcWmg\">said<\/a> on Monday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Rather than considering his resignation, Santos has gone on a hiring spree during his short time on Capitol Hill, bringing on Viswanag \u201cVish\u201d Burra, a political operative with ties to former White House strategist Steve Bannon and businessman Carl Paladino.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Santos has also hired former campaign manager Charles Lovett, a former campaign aide to controversial ex-U.S. Senate candidate Josh Mandel, and Gabby Lipsky as a spokeswoman, alongside other low-profile hires.\n                        <\/p><\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
