In an <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>arent attempt to evade authorities, he switched off his phone on Jan. 3 and was using auto rickshaws to get around,<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hindustantimes.com\/india-news\/shankar-mishra-switched-off-phone-delhi-cops-got-leads-from-taxi-driver-report-101673097833122.html\"> Hindustan Times reported.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Law enforcement officials were finally able to track him down at 3:30 am local time on Saturday after he made a credit card purchase in Bangalore and gave away his location.<\/p>\n<p>Mishra, who was canned from his corporate executive job by Wells Fargo as a result of the incident, was hauled before a judge in New Delhi on Saturday, where he was remanded to 14-day judicial custody. Police had requested that Mishra be placed in their custody, but their request was denied.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"\/>He faces charges of committing an obscene act in a public place; assault or criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty; and misconduct in public by a drunken person. <\/p>\n<p>Earlier this week, an Indian <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a>paper revealed the contents of a complaint made by the 72-year-old victim to an executive at Air India.<\/p>\n<p>The woman alleged in her complaint that during a Nov. 26 flight from New York to New Delhi, a \u201cmale business class passenger \u2026 walked to my seat, completely inebriated.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/01\/wells-fargo-india-1.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"Mishra had been working as a Wells Fargo executive at the banking giant's Mumbai office.\" class=\"wp-image-25277896\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/01\/wells-fargo-india-1.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1535 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/01\/wells-fargo-india-1.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/01\/wells-fargo-india-1.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>Mishra had been working as a Wells Fargo executive at the banking giant\u2019s Mumbai office.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">AFP via Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cHe unzipped his pants and urinated on me and kept standing there until the person sitting next to me tapped him and told him to go back to his seat, at which point he staggered back to his seat,\u201d the woman wrote.<\/p>\n<p>After her clothes were soaked in urine, she was offered \u201cairline pajamas and socks.\u201d She then changed out of her urine-tainted clothes during a <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">trip<\/a> to the bathroom.<\/p>\n<p>She criticized the way in which Air India staff handled her complaint. She wrote that they refused her request to switch seats, even though there was an open spot available in first class.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"embed-wrapper twitter\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Ok, not defending Shankar Mishra for his misdemeanor but is it fair to publicly ostracize someone by sharing his pictures in media; whereas murderers, rapists faces are kept under wraps? <\/p>\n<p>Also, let\u2019s evaluate this situation a little more taking into consideration, the complaint <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/rMn4fpMlWB\">pic.twitter.com\/rMn4fpMlWB<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Varun Uppal (@varunuppal) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/varunuppal\/status\/1611667197713342466?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 7, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>The woman wrote in her complaint letter to the airline that she was then offered a \u201csmall crew seat used by the airline staff, where I sat for about two hours.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To her horror, she wrote that airline crew had asked her to return to the urine-soaked seat, which by this time was covered with a sheet, but she refused.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was then given the steward seat for the rest of the journey,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n<p>The woman was also outraged that airline staff ignored her request to not see the man who peed on her. <\/p>\n<p>But the man had sobered up by then and approached her, breaking down in tears and apologizing. He then begged her not to file a complaint so as to spare his family, she wrote.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignleft\">\n    <\/aside>\n<p>\u201cIn my already distraught state, I was further disoriented by being made to confront and negotiate with the perpetrator of the horrific incident in close quarters,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI told him that his actions were inexcusable, but in the face of his pleading and begging in front of me, and my own shock and trauma, I found it difficult to insist on his arrest or to press charges against him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The woman blasted the airline for initially refusing to reimburse her ticket. She wrote that airline staff also refused her request to have the carrier foot the bill for cleaning her pee-stained clothing.<\/p>\n<p>It was only after the woman\u2019s son-in-law sent to a complaint to Air India on the day after she landed that they agreed to reimburse the ticket.
