Rich (real name Zach Richards). The company began selling High Off Life-branded clothing in 2009 before expanding into hosting concerts and offering creative services locally.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mobile outerAdHatch\">\n<div class=\"ad-border\">\n<div class=\"innerAdHatch\">\n<div id=\"contentUnit200\" class=\"adUnits\" inserted=\"shortcode\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>High Off Life, LLC also shares Hip Hop-centered content to a <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">YouTube<\/a> channel called High Off Life TV. According to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/pro\/sony-music-settles-future-high-off-life-lawsuit\/\"><em>Billboard<\/em><\/a> the company\u2019s trademark infringement lawsuit claimed that the marketing campaign supporting Future\u2019s album made the small firm nearly impossible to locate online.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOvernight, Defendants destroyed HOL\u2019s investment of many years and many thousands of dollars into building consumer recognition.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" style=\"background: #FFF; font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: 17px; text-decoration: none;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CfrWl9kugsK\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading\">A post shared by High Off Life \u00ae Clothing (@highofflifemerch)<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>In April 2022, Sony Music attempted to get the lawsuit dismissed based on a legal precedent called the Rogers Test, which says that a trademark can be used in movie, television show and music titles, as long as the owner of the new copyright doesn\u2019t mislead consumers, and as long as the trademarked name has something to do with the body of work.<\/p>\n<p>At the time, U.S. District Judge Scott Hardy said that he could not make a decision about the validity of the lawsuit without letting both sides present their case.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mobile outerAdHatch\">\n<div class=\"ad-border\">\n<div class=\"innerAdHatch\">\n<div id=\"contentUnit300\" class=\"adUnits\" inserted=\"shortcode\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cGiven that further development of a factual record is necessary before conducting an in-depth analysis of Defendants\u2019 First Amendment defense, the Court declines to further consider Defendants\u2019 First Amendment arguments at this stage of the proceedings,\u201d Hardy wrote in court documents.<\/p>\n<p>He also pointed out that the Rogers Test would only protect Freebandz Productions and Sony Music\u2019s use of the High Off Life name as the album\u2019s title, and would not impact any decision having to do with the sale of merch for\u00a0Future\u2019s album.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mobile outerAdHatch\">\n<div class=\"ad-border\">\n<div class=\"innerAdHatch\">\n<div id=\"contentUnit400\" class=\"adUnits\" inserted=\"shortcode\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>On Tuesday (January 3), the parties filed a motion to dismiss the case, notifying the courts that they had reached a settlement. However, they did not make Hardy privy of the terms of the settlement.<\/p>\n<p><em>HipHopDX\u00a0<\/em>has reached out to High Off Life, LLC for a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Released in May 2020,\u00a0<em>High Off Life\u00a0<\/em>became Future\u2019s seventh No. 1 album on the <em>Billboard 200<\/em> albums chart. After 12 songs from the\u00a0album debuted on the <em>Hot 100<\/em>, Future attained the fourth-most chart entries in\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/articles\/business\/chart-beat\/9390364\/future-has-fourth-most-billboard-hot-100-entries-ever\">Billboard<\/a> history, pushing Nicki Minaj and Elvis Presley out of the position with 110 charting songs in his discography to their respective 109.<\/p>\n<p>Future\u2019s chart success continued with his latest album, 2022\u2019s\u00a0<em>I NEVER LIKED YOU<\/em>, which debuted at No. 1 on the <em>Billboard 200<\/em> with 222,000 first-week units, while its hit single \u201cWAIT FOR U\u201d featuring Drake and Tems\u00a0also debuted in the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mobile outerAdHatch\">\n<div class=\"ad-border\">\n<div class=\"innerAdHatch\">\n<div id=\"contentUnit500\" class=\"adUnits\" inserted=\"shortcode\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The song ranked as one of the biggest hits of the year as it won Best Collaboration at the\u00a0BET Hip Hop Awards, Favorite Hip Hop Song at the\u00a0American Music Awards\u00a0and was recently crowned\u00a0Apple Music\u2019s most streamed song of 2022.<\/p>\n<p><em>I NEVER LIKED YOU<\/em>\u00a0has also garnered three of Future\u2019s four 2023 Grammy Nominations, including a nod for Best Rap Album.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mobile outerAdHatch\">\n<div class=\"ad-border\">\n<div class=\"innerAdHatch\">\n<div id=\"contentUnit600\" class=\"adUnits\" inserted=\"shortcode\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The project allowed the Freebandz boss to become the only rapper to spend all of last year on the\u00a0<em>Hot 100<\/em> chart.<\/p>\n<p>Future beat out numerous other big-time rappers including Drake, who remained on the chart for 51 weeks.
