But the abrupt policy reversal has triggered a massive wave of infections that is overwhelming some hospitals and causing business disruptions.<\/p>\n<p>The border opening follows Saturday\u2019s start of \u201cchun yun\u201d, the first 40-day period of\u00a0Lunar New Year\u00a0travel, which before the pandemic was the world\u2019s largest annual migration of people returning to their hometowns of taking holidays with family. Beijing has quotas on the number of people who can travel between Hong Kong and China each day.<\/p>\n<p>Videos posted on Chinese <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social media<\/a> showed workers at Shanghai\u2019s Pudong airport overnight taking down bright blue boards marking routes through its international terminal to enforce a regime that required travelers from abroad to quarantine for up to eight days upon arrival.<\/p>\n<p>Other videos showed people hugging emotionally upon reuniting at the airport gate.<\/p>\n<p>At Hong Kong\u2019s Lok Ma Chau checkpoint, a driver who only gave his surname Yip, said he was among those who could not wait to travel to the mainland.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s been three years, we have no time to delay,\u201d he said.\n                        <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
