href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>lications sank to multi-decade lows.<\/p>\n<p>The 30-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 6.48% as of Jan. 5, according to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.freddiemac.com\/pmms\" class=\"icon none\">data<\/a> released by Freddie Mac<br \/>\n        FMCC,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/202741363\/delayed\" class=\"negative\">-0.48%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       on Thursday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n       That\u2019s up 6 basis points from the previous week \u2014 one basis point is equal to one hundredth of a percentage point.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Last week, the 30-year was at 6.42%. Last year, the 30-year was averaging at 3.22%<\/p>\n<p>Rates are still far lower than they were a month ago, when the 30-year was averaging above 7%.<\/p>\n<p>The average rate on the 15-year mortgage ticked back up to 5.73%.<\/p>\n<p>If rates were to drop, the outlook for the mortgage market in 2023 will be bright, Freddie Mac noted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHomebuyers are waiting for rates to decrease more significantly, and when they do, a strong job market and a large demographic tailwind of millennial renters will provide support to the purchase market,\u201d Sam Khater, chief economist at Freddie Mac, said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMoreover, if rates continue to decline, borrowers who purchased in the last year will have opportunities to refinance into lower rates,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<div id=\"cx-membership-tile\"><\/div>\n<p>Demand for mortgages has fallen to the lowest level since 1996, the Mortgage Bankers Association reported on Wednesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Khater expects inflationary pressures in the U.S. to ease, and rates to drop in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>The yield on the 10-year Treasury note<br \/>\n        TMUBMUSD10Y,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.000%\" channel=\"\" class=\"\">3.562%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       dipped below 3.75% during the afternoon trading session on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Got thoughts on the housing market?
