However, the global Bitcoin ATM network, which used to add thousands of machines each month in 2021, recorded a net addition of just 94 Bitcoin ATMs over the past six months since July 2022.<\/p>\n<p>A year-long bear market in 2022 \u2014 accompanied by geopolitical tensions and global inflation \u2014 hindered various initiatives aiding the growth of the entire crypto ecosystem. As a result, efforts to install new Bitcoin ATMs dipped in many countries that once spearheaded the initiative. <\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2023-01\/21f4b602-b3f3-4716-a7ee-5927a89de39f.png\"><figcaption style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Chart showing the number of bitcoin machines installed over time. In contrast, a modest 4,169 ATMs were added during the year\u2019s first six months, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/coinatmradar.com\/charts\/growth\/\">confirms<\/a> data from CoinATMRadar. <\/p>\n<p>Despite the global slowdown, countries such as Spain and Australia have taken the lead in crypto ATM installations.
