The youngster had been in a car with his mother, who was rescued by bystanders.<\/p>\n<p>The search for the missing boy was called off Monday afternoon. <\/p>\n<p>The evacuation order in Montecito comes exactly five years after a deadly mudslide killed 23 people and destroyed more than 100 homes in the wealthy community. The Montecito fire district said the order was in place \u201cdue to threats of life safety caused by the ongoing storm.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>DeGeneres, in a video she <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/EllenDeGeneres\/status\/1612591946635284480?s=20&amp;t=qIGFMpxzZUIj2UV6DgS-kQ\">tweeted out Monday<\/a>, said she was only required to shelter-in-place because she is on higher ground. Stay safe everybody.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Montecito is home to millionaires and billionaires with no shortage of celebrities boasting homes in the area. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2022\/07\/13\/meghan-markle-dubbed-princess-of-montecito-by-neighbors\/\">Prince Harry and wife Meghan Markle relocated to Montecito<\/a> in 2020 after leaving the UK. A firefighter found one of the boy\u2019s shoes, but the child remained missing.<\/p>\n<p>The search was stopped because the water levels posed too much of a risk for divers, according to officials. But the search could restart if it becomes safe to do so, said Tony Cipolla, a spokesperson for the county sheriff\u2019s office said, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/california\/story\/2023-01-09\/weather-storm-rain-southern-california\">according to the Los Angeles Times. <\/a><\/p>\n<p>There was no evacuation order at the time of the incident.<\/p>\n<p>In other parts of the region, about 32,000 residents received evacuation orders in Santa Cruz County.
