Beacon held a demo day on Jan. 10 with 13 graduating companies: Arcana, Blinkmoon, ChapterX, Colexion, Community Gaming, Cubist, FastLane, Meta Apes, Mystic Moose, Nillion, Davos Protocol, Timeswap and Ylide. <\/p>\n<p>Polygon co-founder and Beacon creator Sandeep Nailwal described the first batch of graduates as the \u201cMVP of Beacon\u201d because they were the first to demonstrate the accelerator\u2019s chain-agnostic utility. <\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2023-01\/dbc4e75d-670e-49a1-8b1f-5912dc8154cd.png\"><figcaption style=\"text-align: center;\">Cast your vote now!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Nailwal said Cohort 0 dealt with significant adversity as the turmoil from the FTX collapse reverberated across the market. \u201cWe were worried that companies might start dropping out, so disheartened by the crypto markets,\u201d he said in reference to the FTX bankruptcy. \u201cInstead, everyone turned up and was ready to keep building through this.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2023-01\/a20c273c-6b87-49b1-874d-bb5baf98bb1a.png\"><figcaption style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>2022 was a record-breaking year for Web3 venture capital despite the bear market. In November, the Web3 sector saw 23 individual deals valued at a combined $168.3 million, according to Cointelegraph Research.
