lashed out at the e-retailer for allegedly forcing them to \u201cliterally walk over a dead body\u201d after a co-worker suffered a fatal heart attack.<\/p>\n<p>Rick Jacobs, 61, was about to head home after working overnight at the DEN4 warehouse in Colorado Springs when he collapsed to the floor at 5 a.m. on Dec. 27, an Amazon spokesperson <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.kktv.com\/2023\/01\/04\/amazon-employee-passes-away-colorado-springs-facility-company-responds-concerns\/?fbclid=IwAR20G7YNEKDTSZoNx984xK9mUes4DP8c2cJfp2ZMMU7bXKekCpwMEYfmBIE\">told KKTV-TV<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Plant managers allegedly then cordoned off his body using cardboard boxes while staffers arriving for their morning shift were forced to continue working just feet away, according to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/technology\/2023\/jan\/09\/amazon-employee-death-warehouse-floor-colorado\">witnesses cited by the Guardian<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Amazon, whose founder is billionaire Jeff Bezos, made employees \u201cliterally walk over a dead body to make you more money,\u201d an anonymous staffer at the facility wrote on <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reddit<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The staffer\u2019s lengthy post laid out a horrific scene as workers showed up for their shift. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I arrived at 6:30 this morning I saw the fire truck ambulance and police department still at the facility,\u201d the post said. \u201cNot knowing why they were there we all went in clocked in and started to work.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" management) that someone had died and that person was still at the facility,\u201d the post continued. \u201cThere were some employees who were less than 10ft away from the deceased (who was covered) working.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI cannot even begin to say how upset and angry I am at the disrespect for human life from Amazon and our <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a> manager Nick McKeen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The note went on to say: \u201cNo one should have been told to work alongside a dead body, particularly after witnessing it. \u2026 No warnings before walking into the building. The company said managers surrounded the body for privacy and security, according to the Guardian.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is very dis<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ointing to see that a factually incorrect social media post is overshadowing this tragic event,\u201d the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n<p>The Amazon rep also said:\u00a0\u201cAnyone who wanted to take time off that day was allowed to do so. Support services were offered to any employee who was in need.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Post has reached out to McKeen seeking comment. <\/p>\n<p>Contact information for Jacobs\u2019 family was not immediately available.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re deeply saddened by the loss of our colleague who passed away on Dec. 27,\u201d the Amazon spokesperson told The Post. \u201cOur condolences are with his family and friends during this difficult time and we\u2019re offering services and support to them and his colleagues as they grieve.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/01\/nicholas-mckeen-amazon-colorado-springs.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"The anonymous social media post faulted Nicholas McKeen, the director of operations at the facility. Three of the deaths were at facilities in New Jersey and the fourth was at a warehouse in Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n<p>One of those who died reportedly suffered cardiac arrest while another sustained a head injury after falling off a ladder.<\/p>\n<p>Another fatality was said to have been caused by a forklift accident.
