In a Dec. 4 Twitter Spaces event, Musk said he was still interested in integrating crypto with the social media platform. <\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2023-01\/2f747fa9-58bd-4265-ba09-11548991115b.png\" alt=\"\" title=\"\"><figcaption style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong>Cast your vote now!<\/strong><\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>However, newly leaked images of the project\u2019s development shared by Wong and Owji on Jan. 10 are devoid of any mention of crypto or blockchain technology.<\/p>\n<p>Owji tweeted that no leaks so far have provided any indication that crypto will be involved in Twitter Coins: <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cIt seems to be an in-<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a> currency to support the creators. I didn&#8217;t find anything that relates it to *crypto* currency.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The leaked images instead provide more light into the planned uses of the in-app digital currency. <\/p>\n<p>One of the images is a screenshot of the purported purchasing splash page for Twitter Coins, which explains that the in-app currency will allow users to \u201csupport creators who Tweet great content.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\u201cCoins allow you to support creators who Tweet great content. Unused coins are kept in your balance.\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ksNu75mI2r\">pic.twitter.com\/ksNu75mI2r<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Nima Owji (@nima_owji) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/nima_owji\/status\/1612724494107295745?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 10, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>This appears to be in reference to the platform\u2019s \u201cTwitter Awards,\u201d which was also leaked by Manchun Wong a week earlier, on Jan. 5. <\/p>\n<p>According to a <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/wongmjane\/status\/1610978948044951553\">tweet<\/a> by Wong, awards such as \u201cMind Blown,\u201d \u201cBravo\u201d and \u201cSuper Like\u201d can be sent to content creators on the platform \u2014 at a cost denominated in Twitter Coins.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2023-01\/30aa813f-e02d-4b80-9de4-06f637b942d2.jfif\"><figcaption style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Screenshot of the list of Twitter Awards. According to Wong, purchasing Twitter\u2019s digital currency will be enabled through fiat using S<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">trip<\/a>e.<\/p>\n<p>Stripe is a fiat-based payment processing platform that lets merchants accept credit and debit cards, bank transfers, and cash-based vouchers. <\/p>\n<p>However, that\u2019s not to say that crypto may not eventually play a part in the equation.<\/p>\n<p>On April 22, Stripe announced it had begun supporting payouts to select Twitter content creators in USD Coin (USDC) with payouts taking place over the Polygon network. <\/p>\n<p><template data-name=\"subscription_form\" data-type=\"crypto_biz\"><\/template><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
