But this has been a cause of the far-left Green New Deal\u00a0and simmering on the back burner for quite some time.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s usually how these things h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>en. Pet causes of the radical left gain traction, and then cities and communities run by far-left Democratic Party politicians take up the cause, inflicting it on the community with the help of their allies in the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>, and before anyone knows why the thing that wasn\u2019t a problem yesterday is now a problem today, it\u2019s being unnecessarily regulated and even outright banned.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>California used this bunk logic, citing flawed <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/sciencee\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"5\" title=\"Science\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">science<\/a> and research, to ban plastic straws.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cElectrify Everything\u201d movement has been gaining\u00a0steam ever since President Biden came into office and buried several climate initiatives in both his $500 billion infrastructure bill and the supposed Inflation Reduction Act, which both the administration and the media have dubbed a climate bill.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/01\/miller-gas-681-1.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"New York Gov. Kathy Hochul delivers her State of the State address in the Assembly Chamber at the state Capitol.\" class=\"wp-image-25349806\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/01\/miller-gas-681-1.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1535 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/01\/miller-gas-681-1.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/01\/miller-gas-681-1.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>Kathy Hochul also said she was for the gas stove ban.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">AP<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Walking_it_back\"><\/span>Walking it back<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>CPSC Commissioner Richard Trumka Jr. said last month a ban on future gas-stove installations in homes and high-rises is on the table. \u201cWe need to be talking about regulating gas stoves, whether that\u2019s drastically improving emissions or banning gas stoves entirely,\u201d Trumka said. \u201cAnd I think we ought to keep that possibility of a ban in mind because it\u2019s a powerful tool in our tool belt, and it\u2019s a real possibility here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The CPSC\u00a0chair was forced to issue a clarification, and after the backlash, the White House press secretary stated Biden is not interested in pursuing this goal. But there\u2019s not much reading between the lines to see where this is headed, and it\u2019s important to note why \u2014 and who is pushing it and why they won\u2019t stop with gas stoves.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module alignright\">\n    <\/aside>\n<p>The study Trumka cites, and the national media have picked up, says gas stoves are possibly responsible for 12% of all childhood asthma cases, giving activists and advocates the cover of public health. The Rocky Mountain Institute, whose stated goal is to decarbonize everything, commissioned the study. That\u2019s correct, \u201cElectrify Everything,\u201d including water and space heating. Anything that involves the usage of natural gas in the home.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>RMI\u2019s donors include billionaire Richard Branson and Jeff Bezos-linked charities; the push to ban gas stoves was floated at the World Economic Forum in Davos in February 2022. The CEO of Rocky Mountain Institute, Jon Creyts, is speaking at Davos next week.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The research about asthma and gas stoves\u2019 possible effects on cognitive abilities due to carcinogens leaking into the air is largely based on observational analysis, which largely also admits there\u2019s no way to factually link a scientific correlation between the two.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"682\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/01\/miller-gas-685-1.jpg?w=682\" alt=\"Trumka cited a study that connected gas stoves to asthma. \" class=\"wp-image-25349805\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/01\/miller-gas-685-1.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1023 1023w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/01\/miller-gas-685-1.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=682 682w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/01\/miller-gas-685-1.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=341 341w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/01\/miller-gas-685-1.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 682px) 100vw, 682px\"\/><figcaption>CPSC Commissioner Richard Trumka Jr. said last month a ban on future gas-stove installations in homes and high-rises is on the table. <\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">AP<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Observational_studies\"><\/span>Observational studies\u00a0<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>A Harvard Medical School study by Wynne Armand published Sept. 7, 2022, stated, \u201cGas stoves affect air quality inside and outside your home, circulating pollutants that raise risk for asthma and other illnesses.\u201d But further in the same study, Armand wrote that \u201cobservational studies can\u2019t prove that cooking with gas is the direct cause of asthma.\u201d That detail is of course being ignored by the national media and radical green groups.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As for the media themselves, they have taken up the usual mantle of blaming Republicans and conservatives of starting a new culture war to rouse the rabble, simply by noticing what the Biden administration stated and tried to walk back.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Conservatives were minding their own business as both Biden and now Gov. Hochul floated the idea of a national gas-stove ban; when the pols were pushed back, their loyal media allies accused conservatives of starting a culture war.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0If only there were a specific term to describe this form of psychological manipulation in which the aggressor, in this case the media and the Biden administration, attempts to sow self-doubt and confusion in their target\u2019s mind.<\/p>\n<p><em>Stephen L.
