Most of the casualties chose to exit the building following a wave of axings that were done before 9 a.m.\u2014 leaving colleagues who filtered in afterwards confused over what had h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ened, sources said. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/01\/goldman-sachs-230113-55.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"Goldman\" class=\"wp-image-25358544\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/01\/goldman-sachs-230113-55.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=1535 1536w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/01\/goldman-sachs-230113-55.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all 1024w, https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/01\/goldman-sachs-230113-55.jpg?quality=75&amp;strip=all&amp;w=512 512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\"\/><figcaption>Goldman employees were sent phony calendar invites before being firing.<\/figcaption><figcaption><span class=\"credit\">REUTERS<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Indeed, the cold efficiency of the proceedings took on a more chaotic feel as\u00a0 many managers weren\u2019t clear about next steps, including when health insurance coverage would end or how much severance fired employees would receive.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s partly because the human resources department was among the units that were hard hit by the firings, and lacked the headcount to properly administer the meetings, insiders said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen he asked questions\u2026 they had no details and asked him to confirm his personal cell and email and that someone \u2018would get back to him later,\u201d the source added. \u201cTypical for our human capital management (Goldman\u2019s Human Resources) \u2026 they are a sloppy mess on everything administrative.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A Goldman spokesperson denied HR cuts had an impact on communicating severance and pushed back against the notion that the firings were a surprise. Solomon had warned over the last few months that cuts were coming and the company said they would begin Wednesday. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe know this is a difficult time for people leaving the firm. We\u2019re grateful for all our people\u2019s contributions, and we\u2019re providing support to ease their transitions,\u201d Global Head of Communication Tony Fratto said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Another source noted Goldman treated managing directors and vice presidents with more transparency \u2013 giving them warning they might get cut over the past few weeks before a final decision had been made.<\/p>\n<p>Higher-level Goldmanites didn\u2019t have much sympathy for those blindsided by getting fired after receiving a rogue calendar invite. Decision has already been made.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Another Blind user said, \u201cYou are laid off. Clean personal off your laptop.
