Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) said Congress could not \u201cexclude the possibility\u201d that national security was jeopardized by the handling of President Biden\u2019s classified documents, which are now at the center of a Department of Justice probe.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t think we can exclude the possibility without knowing more of the facts,\u201d Schiff said on ABC\u2019s \u201cThis Week\u201d in an interview with Jonathan Karl. \u201cI\u2019d like to know what these documents were, I\u2019d like to know what the (special counsel\u2019s) assessment is.\u201d<\/p>\n<aside class=\"ad-unit ad-unit--mr1_ab\"><\/aside>\n<p>The discovery of Biden\u2019s classified documents in unauthorized locations has placed Democrats in the middle of a political conundrum. They have for months blasted former President Trump for his handling of classified documents, which resulted in the FBI search of Mar-a-Lago. <\/p>\n<p>Schiff on Sunday said he thinks the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ointment of a special counsel to investigate the Biden documents was the right move.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe attorney <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a> has to make sure that not only is justice evenly applied, but the appearances of justice are also satisfactory to the public,\u201d Schiff said. \u201cAnd here, I don\u2019t think he had any choice but to appoint a special counsel.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Attorney General Merrick Garland announced last week that Robert Hurt, a former U.S. attorney, would serve as the special counsel investigating the Biden documents.<\/p>\n<p>But Schiff, like many Democrats, made sure to distinguish between Trump and Biden\u2019s handling of documents, emphasizing that it appears the president has fully cooperated with law enforcement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Biden approach was very different in the sense that it looks that it was inadvertent that these documents were at these locations,\u201d Schiff said. \u201cThere was no effort to hold onto them, no effort to conceal them, no effort to obstruct the Justice Department\u2019s investigation.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
