TP-Link has introduced its first plug compatible with Matter, and even if you don\u2019t care about Matter, it looks compelling.<\/p>\n<p>The Tapo P125M falls under TP-Link\u2019s \u201cTapo\u201d line, which is newer and less popular than the company\u2019s long-running \u201cKasa\u201d product lineup. There\u2019s no real reason why TP-Link has two different smart home ecosystems with two different <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>s, but that\u2019s a problem the new Matter home standard is supposed to make less annoying, and this plug has the honor of being TP-Link\u2019s first Matter-compatible product. You can set the device up normally with a phone over Bluetooth, or scan the Matter code on the side. TP-Link says it can then be controlled with the Tapo app \u201cor any other Matter-certified app (already configured),\u201d even if your home loses internet connection.<\/p>\n<p>Besides Matter support, the Tapo P125M does all the usual smart plug stuff. You can connect a lamp, appliance, or anything else into the socket, which can then be controlled through apps or virtual assistants. It\u2019s advertised as compatible with Alexa, Google Home, and Samsung SmartThings. However, it doesn\u2019t seem to have any power monitoring features, like some other smart plugs \u2014 including TP-Link\u2019s own\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Kasa-Energy-Monitoring-Smart-Plug\/dp\/B08LN3C7WK?tag=lsmedia-13876-20\">Kasa KP115<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>You can buy the TP-Link Tapo\u00a0P125M now from Amazon for $19.99. That\u2019s a bit more expensive than the aforementioned Kasa KP115, but it\u2019s brand new, so that\u2019s to be expected.
