If you share a Netflix account with family or friends outside your household, get ready to pay for it. A new \u201cpaid sharing\u201d system could roll out starting next month, and you\u2019ll have to pay a fee for those using your account.<\/p>\n<p>Announced as part of its\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/s22.q4cdn.com\/959853165\/files\/doc_financials\/2022\/q4\/FINAL-Q4-22-Shareholder-Letter.pdf\" data-url=\"https:\/\/s22.q4cdn.com\/959853165\/files\/doc_financials\/2022\/q4\/FINAL-Q4-22-Shareholder-Letter.pdf\" data-component-tracked=\"1\">Q4 2022 earnings report<\/a>\u00a0<span class=\"sr-only\">this week<\/span>, password-sharing could die as early as March. In the report, Netflix confirmed that its new paid-sharing feature would roll out in Q1 2023. For those unaware, that quarter ends in March. This means the company is ready to drop the ban hammer on those sharing accounts.<\/p>\n<p>Over the last year, Netflix has made several changes. The company introduced new\u00a0ad-supported plans\u00a0to increase revenue, confirmed it\u2019s about to crack down on password sharing, and even created a <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/redirect.viglink.com\/?key=14d03d76e0a6285761e58439513dfd19&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Fabout.netflix.com%2Fen%2Fnews%2Fprofile-transfer-keeps-netflix-experience-constant&amp;cuid=xid:{xid}&amp;___trxnet=vg\">profile transfer tool<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Netflix said, <em>\u201cwhile our terms of use limit the use of Netflix to a household, we recognize this is a change for members who share their account more broadly. As we roll out paid sharing, members in many countries will also have the option to pay extra if they want to share Netflix with people they don\u2019t live with.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The company recently made it easier for account owners to log out users, like an ex, parents, siblings, friends, or freeloading extended family, which will likely play a big role in this shift. You can manage your account and remotely log out anyone accessing the account.<\/p>\n<p>And while we\u2019re not entirely sure how the paid sharing feature will work, anyone outside your household and using the account will likely get a pop-up and won\u2019t be able to stream <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">movies<\/a> and shows. And if you\u2019d like to add an extra profile to your Netflix account, it\u2019ll cost you.<\/p>\n<p>In a test outside the U.S. last year, Netflix was charging an extra $2.99 per month for \u201cside accounts.\u201d Those additional users got their own profile, password, recommendations, and watch history. Still, we\u2019ll have to wait and see.<\/p>\n<p>If you share Netflix with a bunch of people, tell them to enjoy it while they can.
