\n A protest in Kentucky over the police shooting of Breonna Taylor led to 71 people being arrested on the final day of a four-day event to call for justice in her death, police said.<\/p>\n

The Tuesday demonstration that capp<\/a>ed BreonnaCon in a call for action in the 26-year-old EMT\u2019s March 13 death during a botched drug raid started at South Central Park in Louisville, where some 300 protesters gathered and chanted her name, the Louisville Courier-Journal reports.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are here to fight for justice for Breonna Taylor,\u201d said Linda Sarsour, co-founder of Until Freedom, an activist group that organized the protest.<\/p>\n

Protesters headed to a police training headquarters, where some called to \u201carrest the cops\u201d involved in Taylor\u2019s death before a crowd of 1,000 later descended on streets outside Churchill Downs \u2014 the home of the Kentucky Derby \u2014 and obstructed traffic, the news<\/a>paper reports.<\/p>\n

\u201cPlease get out of the road or you will be arrested,\u201d officers told the crowd.<\/p>\n

Some of the protesters then sat down on a street before they were taken into custody, including Sarsour and \u201cThe Real Housewives of Atlanta\u201d star Porsha Williams, the newspaper reports.<\/p>\n

The demonstrators were charged with obstructing a roadway and disorderly conduct, Louisville interim Police Chief Robert Schroeder told reporters Tuesday.<\/p>\n

In all, 71 people were arrested during the protest, a police spokesman told The Post early Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Some of the demonstrators travel<\/a>ed from New York, Florida and Michigan to take part in the protest. Organizers told CNN they plan on interrupting the Kentucky Derby, which has been rescheduled to Sept. 5 due to coronavirus concerns.<\/p>\n

Taylor\u2019s mother, meanwhile, said she doesn\u2019t understand what\u2019s taking investigators so long to charge the officers involved in her daughter\u2019s death.<\/p>\n

\u201cA lot of times you want to give up, you want to walk away but I know she deserves justice,\u201d Tamika Palmer told CNN.<\/p>\n

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear said Tuesday that authorities \u201cstill don\u2019t have an answer or the facts\u201d in Taylor\u2019s shooting death.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a need for finality in the investigation,\u201d Beshear said. \u201cMs. Taylor\u2019s family deserves to know the truth. We at least need an explanation for what\u2019s taking so long.\u201d<\/p>\n

The shooting remains under investigation by FBI officials, although no clear timeline was provided by the agency in June as to when the probe may conclude.<\/p>\n

The city\u2019s police chief, meanwhile, has fired one of the officers for \u201cwantonly and blindly\u201d firing inside Taylor\u2019s home after her boyfriend fired a shot at three white plainclothes cops during the raid, thinking they were intruders. The other two officers are on administrative leave.<\/p>\n

No drugs were found inside the home of Taylor, who was shot eight times during the narcotics raid.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
