Worth, Texas jail where he was being held on an undisclosed charge.<\/p>\n<p>According to\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fox13memphis.com\/news\/local\/suspect-young-dolph-murder-released-texas-prison-officials-say\/C72PSLYEGFBWVBJ5FIPX3ZQXVU\/\"><em>Fox 13 Memphis<\/em><\/a>, the man bonded out of the Tarrant County Jail on December 24, 2022.\u00a0<em>HipHopDX<\/em> was not able to confirm Barnett\u2019s exact release date, but a representative at the jail said that he likely would not have been held for an extended period of time beyond having paid his bond.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mobile outerAdHatch\">\n<div class=\"ad-border\">\n<div class=\"innerAdHatch\">\n<div id=\"contentUnit200\" class=\"adUnits\" inserted=\"shortcode\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Barnett was charged as an accessory after the fact to first-degree murder on January 12, 2022, after being captured with the primary suspect in the case, Justin Johnson.<\/p>\n<p>In a press conference at the time, U.S Marshal Tyreece Miller said that Barnett had been charged as an accessory because authorities believed he was aware of Johnson\u2019s fugitive status and assisted him in evading arrest during a week-long search.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mobile outerAdHatch\">\n<div class=\"ad-border\">\n<div class=\"innerAdHatch\">\n<div id=\"contentUnit300\" class=\"adUnits\" inserted=\"shortcode\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Justin Johnson was transported to the Knox County Indiana Jail and booked on violation of federal supervised release before being transferred to Shelby County Jail in Memphis, where he remains. Shundale Barnett was held at the Clay County Jail in Indiana and was also expected to be transferred to Shelby County.<\/p>\n<p>He was instead released from the Indiana facility on January 21, 2022. On February 17, the Shelby County Sheriff\u2019s Office issued a warrant for Barnett\u2019s arrest, admitting that they had \u201cno idea\u201d where he was,\u00a0<em><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/wreg.com\/news\/local\/young-dolph\/third-suspect-wanted-in-connection-to-young-dolphs-murder\/\">WREG<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>reported.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mobile outerAdHatch\">\n<div class=\"ad-border\">\n<div class=\"innerAdHatch\">\n<div id=\"contentUnit400\" class=\"adUnits\" inserted=\"shortcode\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Clay County Sheriff Paul Harden addressed the situation during a press conference on the same day.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn January 11, Mr. Shundale Barnett was brought to the Clay County Jail by the Indiana State Police from an arrest on I-70,\u201d Harden explained. \u201cHe was booked in the Clay County Jail on an outstanding warrant from Shelby County, Tennessee.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe contacted Shelby County and held him on their warrant, he continued. \u201cAnd we were contacted on January 21 and they told us that they were no longer wanting to come and pick up Mr. Barnett and that we were to release him at that time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Rick Ross Reflects On Young Dolph\u2019s Passing &amp; Has Message For Dolph Fans\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/fLFtBTnJa-U?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Last April, a new arrest warrant had been issued for Shundale Barnett on charges of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder. It\u2019s unclear if his detention in Texas was connected to either warrant or to Young Dolph\u2019s murder.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to Johnson, three other men remain in custody in Memphis with charges related to the slain r<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>er\u2019s death.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mobile outerAdHatch\">\n<div class=\"ad-border\">\n<div class=\"innerAdHatch\">\n<div id=\"contentUnit500\" class=\"adUnits\" inserted=\"shortcode\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>According to\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fox13memphis.com\/news\/local\/fourth-man-arrested-connection-young-dolph-murder-mpd-says\/GFBO4HKBYFAHLOH3ZGO2UYWDMU\/\"><i>Fox 13<\/i><\/a><i>,<\/i> Memphis Police took Jermarcus Johnson into custody on November 18, who turned himself into the Multi-Agency Gang Unit after being named as a suspect by the MPD.\u00a0Per the report, Johnson was charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree murder.<\/p>\n<p>The indictment went on to say that authorities believe he helped hide his half-brother Justin Johnson and Cornelius Smith after the deadly shooting, then helped the two get away.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mobile outerAdHatch\">\n<div class=\"ad-border\">\n<div class=\"innerAdHatch\">\n<div id=\"contentUnit600\" class=\"adUnits\" inserted=\"shortcode\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>A few days earlier, Hernandez Govan was indicted on charges of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder. Officials alleged that Govan ordered the hit on Young Dolph in a plot that he started putting together in June 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Following the alleged mastermind\u2019s arrest, Justin Johnson and Cornelius Smith were indicted on conspiracy charges, but have yet to be formally charged. Per <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fox13memphis.com\/news\/local\/lawyer-young-dolph-murder-suspect-asks-judge-be-removed-case\/5V75RSDYABDFJPVWWJIHVIYC34\/\"><em>Fox 13<\/em><\/a>, their attorneys told Judge Lee Coffee that they both intend to enter a not guilty plea to the additional charge during a hearing on Friday (January 20).<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">A grand jury indicted Cornelius Smith and Justin Johnson on another charge. The judge\u2019s order came after Johnson, also known as Memphis rapper Straight Drop, released a single recorded from jail.<\/p>\n<p>Evans\u2019 complaint centered around the fact that Coffee issued the interim order for administrative isolation \u2014 which left Straight Drop only allowed to communicate with his lawyer \u2014 without an in-court discussion about the release of the song, titled \u201cNo Statements.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"mobile outerAdHatch\">\n<div class=\"ad-border\">\n<div class=\"innerAdHatch\">\n<div id=\"contentUnit700\" class=\"adUnits\" inserted=\"shortcode\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cOur legal system is built on transparency. It\u2019s built on process. It\u2019s not built on information being vetted without the defendant being present and not having the ability to respond to it,\u201d the attorney said during the hearing.\u00a0\u201cObviously its a paramount concern for Mr. Johnson that he receives a fair trial in front of an impartial judge.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A little over two years on since his death, Young Dolph\u2019s memory is still being kept alive through new music and other tributes.<\/p>\n<p>On January 13, his estate, his record label Paper Route Empire and the Trap Music Museum launched the Dolphland Pop-Up Museum Tour in New York City.<\/p>\n<p>The tour is scheduled to <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">travel<\/a> through Atlanta, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C., among other cities. Ahead of the pop-up tour, Paper Route Empire CEO Daddy-O spoke about the purpose of the installations.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mobile outerAdHatch\">\n<div class=\"ad-border\">\n<div class=\"innerAdHatch\">\n<div id=\"contentUnit800\" class=\"adUnits\" inserted=\"shortcode\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cThe goal of the pop-up museum is to showcase the character of a leader and businessman, and to highlight the journey of someone whose early beginnings may mirror that of many young kids and entrepreneurs starting, so that they may draw inspiration to keep pushing on their own endeavors,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Dolph\u2019s manager and Street Execs co-founder Allen Parks added: \u201cDolph has a great base of fans, and he loved going out and engaging with them.
