\n Not much has been able to stop Luka Doncic, aside from a sprained left ankle.<\/p>\n

So it raised plenty of eyebrows on Twitter<\/a> and elsewhere Tuesday night when Marcus Morris stepped on Doncic\u2019s left ankle during the Clippers\u2019 154-111 win over the Mavericks in Game<\/a> 5 of their first-round series<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Doncic was getting ready to receive an inbounds pass after a Clippers basket in the third quarter when Morris ran over to defend the Mavericks star. His left foot landed on the back of Doncic\u2019s left ankle, knocking his shoe off.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have my own thoughts,\u201d Doncic told reporters after the game. \u201cI hope it wasn\u2019t intentional. Tell me what you think.\u201d<\/p>\n

Doncic smirked and tilted his head while waiting for the reporter\u2019s thoughts.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just hope it wasn\u2019t intentional, but every person is going to have their own thoughts,\u201d Doncic said. \u201cJust move on from it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Morris clearly caught wind of the blowback, defending his innocence in a pair of tweets late Tuesday night.<\/p>\n

\u201cI play this game with a level of respect for myself and other players,\u201d the former Knick wrote. \u201cTo think I would try to injure somebody is crazy to me. 10 years going against the best. I stand on morals and hard work. I compete and leave it out there every game.<\/p>\n

\u201cBasketball has never been that serious to try to hurt somebody. Im not apologizing for s\u2013t because I know what I put into this game day in and day out. It was a mistake deal wit it. Competing is why I play.\u201d<\/p>\n

Doncic, who finished with 22 points, eight rebounds and four assists in Game 5 after capp<\/a>ing off a 43-point Game 4 masterpiece with a game-winning shot, said he wasn\u2019t interested in an apology from Morris.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t want to talk to him,\u201d said Doncic, who initially injured his ankle in Game 3. \u201cHe\u2019s just saying a lot of bad stuff to me all game. Just, I don\u2019t want to talk to him. I just got to move on. Like I said, everyone is going to have their own opinion and I just hope it wasn\u2019t intentional. If that was intentional, that\u2019s really bad.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
