From the name of his freak-jazz collective, Exploding Star Orchestra, to their most recent album\u2019s title, <i>Dimensional Stardust<\/i>, there\u2019s no denying it: he\u2019s got a thing for the great beyond. Today (January 24), he\u2019s announced his next venture, an ambitious LP called <i>Lightning Dreamers<\/i>, with its lead single, \u201cFuture Shaman.\u201d The record is due out March 31 via International Anthem.<\/p>\n<p>            There are plenty of familiar voices on <i>Lightning Dreamers<\/i>, from Mazurek\u2019s collaborative roster and from the contemporary experimental music scene at large: <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jeffparkersounds.com\/\">Jeff Parker<\/a>\u2019s shapeshifting guitar, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/craigtaborn.com\/\">Craig Taborn<\/a> and <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.angelicasanchez.com\/\">Angelica Sanchez<\/a>\u2019s many keyboards, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nicolemitchell.com\/\">Nicole Mitchell<\/a>\u2019s quivering flute, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/damonlocks.black\/\">Damon Locks<\/a>\u2019 stratospheric sampling tr<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ed in a polyrhythmic <i>menage a trois<\/i> with <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/a_good_question?lang=en\">Gerald Cleaver<\/a>\u2019s drums and Mauricio Takara\u2019s <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/mtakarara\/?hl=en\">electric percussion<\/a>. Mazurek sits in the midst of the madness \u2014 a sometimes-humble player-director alternating between the boards, the baton, the trumpet (his main instrument), the launeddas, and the spoken word.<\/p>\n<div class=\"\" style=\"padding-bottom: 20px; margin-top: 20px; text-align: left;\">\n<\/div>\n<p>            \u201cFuture Shaman\u201d finds the ensemble sitting comfortably in an interstellar groove, vibing in a relatively stable pocket of spacetime that slowly rips as the instruments begins to bug out in succession, each more aggressively than the last.
