Using Automator on Mac, you can set up automations that save you time.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Using_Automator_on_Mac\"><\/span>Using Automator on Mac<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>For each of the processes below, you\u2019ll create a new document in Automator. For the purposes of this tutorial, we\u2019ll create either an <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">App<\/a>lication or Quick Action.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"admonishment_note\"><p><strong>Note:<\/strong> An Application is a self-contained tool that uses an icon you can place on your desktop. A Quick Action is a service you can access by right-clicking or opening the More menu below the Finder Preview.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>To get started, open Automator from Finder &gt; Go &gt; Applications. Then, save the automation using File &gt; Save from the menu bar. Give it a name, optionally choose a specific location, and click \u201cSave.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"1_Split_PDFs\"><\/span>1. Split PDFs<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>When you receive lengthy PDF documents, you may need to split them into separate files. With Automator, you can split a document and receive a different file for each page.<\/p>\n<p>For this, we\u2019ll create an Application in Automator that lets us simply drag and drop our file into it. Then, pick the Output File Name. You can make it the same as the input or enter a Custom Name. Watermark PDFs<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Another task you may perform with PDF files is to watermark them. Rather than spend time adding that logo or image manually, you can have Automator do it for you.<\/p>\n<p>For this, we\u2019ll create a Quick Action in Automator but you can create an Application if you prefer. Select \u201cPDFs\u201d in the Library and then drag Watermark PDF Documents into the workflow window on the right.<\/p>\n<p>Click \u201cAdd\u201d to select the image watermark. For our example, we\u2019ll add the action to open the file in Preview.<\/p>\n<p>Select \u201cFiles &amp; Folders\u201d in the Library and drag Open Finder Items below the watermark box in the workflow. Convert Images<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Another tedious task that Automator can help with is converting images from one file type to another. This is handy for batches of images that you need to change from PNG to JPG or vice versa, for instance.<\/p>\n<p>For this process, we\u2019ll also use a Quick Action. Select \u201cPhotos\u201d in the Library and then drag the Change Type of Images action to the right.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll be asked if you want to create a copy of the image before converting it. You can do this with Automator by selecting the size you want to use upfront.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ll also use a Quick Action for this so we can crop the image with a simple click.
