\n President Trump on Wednesday said the National Guard and federal agents would be deployed to Kenosha, Wisconsin, to quell widespread looting, arson and violence following the recent police shooting of Jacob Blake.<\/p>\n

Trump wrote on Twitter<\/a> that Democratic Gov. Tony Evers agreed to accept the deployment following the Tuesday night killing of two protesters by a since-arrested militia member.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will NOT stand for looting, arson, violence, and lawlessness on American streets. My team just got off the phone with Governor Evers who agreed to accept federal assistance (Portland should do the same!),\u201d Trump tweeted. \u201cTODAY, I will be sending federal law enforcement and the National Guard to Kenosha, WI to restore LAW and ORDER!\u201d<\/p>\n

Blake, 29, was shot in the back seven times Sunday as he walked away from police officers responding to a fight. He had scuffled with officers and reportedly was tased before app<\/a>roaching his car.<\/p>\n

Kenosha is a small city located between Chicago and Milwaukee. Riots, looting and arson after Blake\u2019s shooting devastated downtown businesses, and armed anti-looting militia members paced the streets before the fatal shootings Tuesday.\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
