Cole his peers because he still has work to do.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.complex.com\/music\/21-savage-best-rapper-of-2022-interview\"><em>Complex<\/em><\/a>, the Slaughter Gang boss said he believes he\u2019s years away from considering himself worthy of standing next to Drizzy and Cole. According to 21, both Drake and J. Cole put in a lot of work to have a career and fanbase that will live on once they finally hang up their mic.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mobile outerAdHatch\">\n<div class=\"ad-border\">\n<div class=\"innerAdHatch\">\n<div id=\"contentUnit200\" class=\"adUnits\" inserted=\"shortcode\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s just a difference, bro,\u201d the Atlanta rap star said. \u201cThat\u2019s, like, years of work and a fanbase that is going to be there until they die, that\u2019s different. I feel like I\u2019m working to be on that level that they\u2019re on, but I don\u2019t feel like it\u2019s the same. I feel I could do something corny, and I would lose a lot of what I got. I\u2019m working toward that level for sure, but I don\u2019t think I\u2019m there yet. I\u2019m not saying I\u2019m light-years behind. They\u2019re more solidified, and I\u2019m still building on what I got. But I could be wrong\u2026 It\u2019s all about how the fans look at it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Despite how he feels, 21 has brought out the best of both men when he\u2019s collaborated with them. The <em>Savage Mode<\/em> rapper dropped his J. Cole-assisted \u201cA Lot\u201d in 2018, which went on to be critically acclaimed.<\/p>\n<p>Cole earned a <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/watch\/?v=1247143398807410\">2019 HipHopDX Award for Verse of the Year<\/a> for his feature on the song, and 21 snagged his first Grammy at the 2020 ceremony for Best Rap Song.
