Well, it\u2019s true that eggs are expensive right now, but the cholesterol bit might not be quite as true as you thought.<\/p>\n<p>Do eggs raise cholesterol? They can, but there are a few things to know about your own risk factors before you swear off the food.<\/p>\n<p>Most people can <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.health.harvard.edu\/heart-health\/are-eggs-risky-for-heart-health\">safely consume eggs<\/a> in moderation without the additional risk of high cholesterol. The key, though, is that one word: <em>moderation<\/em>. Recommendations are typically for no more than one egg per day or seven eggs per week if you already <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/redirect.viglink.com\/?key=432db143fab4826620fe7b8eb31c6901&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.mayoclinic.org%2Fdiseases-conditions%2Fhigh-blood-cholesterol%2Fexpert-answers%2Fcholesterol%2Ffaq-20058468&amp;cuid=xid:{xid}&amp;___trxnet=vg\">eat a low-cholesterol diet<\/a>. However, if you already have high cholesterol or are at a higher risk for heart disease, diabetes, heart attack, or stroke, you might want to consider egg whites only.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"admonishment_note\"><p><strong>Note:<\/strong> This article is not intended to be medical advice; before changing your diet, it is best to consult your doctor.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Why egg whites only? Well, here\u2019s the good <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> if you are at higher risk of cardiovascular issues, stroke, or diabetes. The cholesterol in an egg is concentrated in the yolk with high LDL cholesterol levels (that\u2019s the bad kind). There\u2019s choline which is great for your brain; lutein and zeaxanthin which are good for the eyes; and there\u2019s little saturated fat.<\/p>\n<p>The biggest issue for many isn\u2019t an egg. It\u2019s what they eat with the eggs. Bacon, sausage, and butter are all common breakfast items served with eggs, and they\u2019re much more likely to raise your cholesterol.<\/p>\n<p>Much like with other foods, the key to eating eggs in a healthy manner is to limit intake to only a few per week if you don\u2019t have existing health conditions and aren\u2019t at elevated risk for them.
