On Monday, he apologized.<\/p>\n<div class=\"caas-pull-quote-wrapper caas-img caas-lazy\" data-src=\"\">\n<blockquote class=\"caas-blockquote\"><p>&#8220;I was emotional,&#8221; Pratt said. &#8220;I was in the moment. I was wrong. I would say I was wrong. As a man, you can look at yourself in the mirror and say \u2018I was wrong. I wasn\u2019t a great teammate in the moment.\u2019<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"caas-pull-quote-wrapper caas-img caas-lazy\" data-src=\"\">\n<blockquote class=\"caas-blockquote\">\n<p>\u201cBut that don\u2019t define me as a man.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<p>So why was Pratt apologizing? In case you missed it, the Bengals linebacker had some candid words targeting Ossai in the aftermath of Sunday&#8217;s 23-20 loss.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Pratts_raw_response_after_tough_loss\"><\/span>Pratt&#8217;s raw response after tough loss<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The Chiefs secured victory on a 45-yard Harrison Butker field goal with three seconds remaining. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes scrambled for a first down before running out of bounds on the play before the kick. Ossai hit Mahomes late out of bounds, drawing a 15-yard unnecessary roughness penalty \u2014 a clear infraction that officials could not ignore.<\/p>\n<p>Without the penalty, Butker would have faced a considerably less likely 60-yard attempt in frigid Kansas City conditions. With the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a> tied at 20-20, a miss would have set up overtime barring a Bengals miracle in the game&#8217;s final seconds. But there was no miss, and Cincinnati&#8217;s season ended painfully short of the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/nfl\/super-bowl\/\" data-ylk=\"slk:Super Bowl\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">Super Bowl<\/a> after a hard-fought game.<\/p>\n<p>As the Bengals walked through the postgame tunnel, a TV camera captured Pratt saying this:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;How the f*** do you touch the quarterback?&#8221; Pratt yelled.<\/p>\n<p>Ossai wasn&#8217;t in the vicinity when Pratt made his exclamation. He may have still been on the Bengals&#8217; bench, where he sat with his head in his hands for several moments after the game&#8217;s conclusion.<\/p>\n<p>But the message surely got back to Ossai. And it was out of line with the Bengals&#8217; public face after the game, which was otherwise fully <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/joseph-ossais-hit-on-patrick-mahomes-goes-down-in-bengals-infamy-but-he-didnt-face-scrutiny-alone-061108543.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:supportive of the 22-year-old defensive end;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp yahoo-link\">supportive of the 22-year-old defensive end<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Bengals_largely_united_in_support_of_Ossai\"><\/span>Bengals largely united in support of Ossai<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Multiple Bengals players <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/bestcelly\/status\/1620181524426690561\" data-ylk=\"slk:consoled Ossai on the bench\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">consoled Ossai on the bench<\/a> in the aftermath of the play. Head coach Zac Taylor gave him a hug in the locker room and <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/joseph-ossais-hit-on-patrick-mahomes-goes-down-in-bengals-infamy-but-he-didnt-face-scrutiny-alone-061108543.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:allowed Ossai to cry on his shoulder;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp yahoo-link\">allowed Ossai to cry on his shoulder<\/a>. Defensive tackle B.J. Hill literally stood by Ossai&#8217;s side as he fielded tough questions from reporters in the locker room.<\/p>\n<div class=\"caas-pull-quote-wrapper caas-img caas-lazy\" data-src=\"\">\n<blockquote class=\"caas-blockquote\">\n<p>\u201cIt didn\u2019t come down to that play,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/joseph-ossais-hit-on-patrick-mahomes-goes-down-in-bengals-infamy-but-he-didnt-face-scrutiny-alone-061108543.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:Hill told reporters;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp yahoo-link\">Hill told reporters<\/a> after Ossai owned up to his mistake. \u201cI\u2019m not going to put up with no dumb questions that make it seem like it was all his fault. It takes more than him. It takes an entire team.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"caas-pull-quote-wrapper caas-img caas-lazy\" data-src=\"\">\n<blockquote class=\"caas-blockquote\">\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s my brother. I\u2019ve been in that situation before, too. I had a chance to make a game-winning sack [against Dallas]. I just missed a sack. I\u2019ve been there. Trying to blame it on one person, I\u2019m not going to have that.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<p>Outside of Pratt&#8217;s outburst, the Bengals front was united around Ossai. At the same time, Pratt&#8217;s raw emotions in the moments after the game were understandable.
