js-entry-text \" itemprop=\"articleBody\">Doja Cat has said she\u2019s not a fan of the \u201cdisrespectful\u201d comparisons people are making between her and Britney Spears due to her shaved head.<\/p>\n<p>Spears\u2019 infamous 2007 head shaving incident became some of the biggest tabloid fodder in pop culture history, with numerous outlets <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cosmopolitan.com\/uk\/entertainment\/a29681281\/britney-spears-shaved-head-reason-2007\/\">branding the pop star as having had a \u201cmeltdown\u201d<\/a> or being crazy for removing her long blonde locks.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mobile outerAdHatch\">\n<div class=\"ad-border\">\n<div class=\"innerAdHatch\">\n<div id=\"contentUnit200\" class=\"adUnits\" inserted=\"shortcode\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The moment played a big part in ultimately convincing a judge to place her under her notorious conservatorship, which meant her father Jamie had control over all her personal assets including finances. <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/06\/22\/arts\/music\/britney-spears-conservatorship.html\">Spears was finally freed from the conservatorship in 2021<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Doja Cat told <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2023\/music\/features\/doja-cat-new-era-rapping-fashion-1235506581\/\"><em>Variety<\/em><\/a> on Wednesday (February 1) that she faced similar scrutiny after she shaved her head in August 2022, with many comparing her hair removal to Spears\u2019.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mobile outerAdHatch\">\n<div class=\"ad-border\">\n<div class=\"innerAdHatch\">\n<div id=\"contentUnit300\" class=\"adUnits\" inserted=\"shortcode\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s so incredibly disrespectful for people to be minimizing what Britney went through and make a joke out of something that was very serious and a big deal in her life,\u201d she explained. \u201cEvery time I see a comment like that, I can\u2019t compute what\u2019s h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ening, other than it\u2019s just an awful thing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Doja went on to say that her shaved head was just because she needed a change. \u201cI wasn\u2019t working out and wasn\u2019t really taking care of myself in the way that I wanted to. I was like, \u2018I need to do something,\u2019 so I just chopped it all off,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd I could see the shape of my head. I feel like we have enough pop-punk artists right now. And I don\u2019t even know if that\u2019s gonna make it out there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Doja Cat had previously said the follow-up to her Grammy-nominated album <em>Planet Her<\/em> would be much more rap-heavy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve rapped since the beginning, and I really couldn\u2019t even sing that well to begin with \u2014 I got a lot better,\u201d Doja said in an interview with<em> Elle<\/em> at the time.. \u201cI use my voice as a tool to create these worlds, and it\u2019s fine if people think that I can\u2019t rap.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While Doja Cat was forced to pull out of a\u00a0massive summer tour\u00a0alongside The Weeknd\u00a0due to tonsil surgery last year, the 26-year-old has said her next album is \u201ccoming up,\u201d and even claimed it would be <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.complex.com\/music\/doja-cat-wants-to-make-pop-hip-hop-albums\">a double album produced by 9th Wonder and Jay Versace<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mobile outerAdHatch\">\n<div class=\"ad-border\">\n<div class=\"innerAdHatch\">\n<div id=\"contentUnit500\" class=\"adUnits\" inserted=\"shortcode\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cI have been getting songs and things sent to me,\u201d she told\u00a0<em>Elle.<\/em>\u00a0\u201cOh fuck, I wish I could tell people!
