You don\u2019t have to be a developer to take advantage of these secret features, though. We\u2019ll show you how to find them.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_Are_Android_Developer_Options\"><\/span>What Are Android Developer Options?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>As the name implies, the \u201cDeveloper Options\u201d\u2014sometimes called \u201cDeveloper Mode\u201d\u2014are intended to be used by Android developers. It\u2019s a hidden menu in the Settings <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a> with a bunch of features and options that aid in testing and debugging apps.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll see things like \u201cWireless Debugging,\u201d \u201cBug Report Shortcut,\u201d \u201cShow Surface Updates,\u201d \u201cDisplay Cutout,\u201d and \u201cProfile HWUI Rendering.\u201d Many of these things mean nothing to the average user, but they\u2019re valuable to developers and power users. That\u2019s why they\u2019re hidden by default.<\/p>\n<p>These are not settings that should be messed around with carelessly. That being said, there are a few <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/175151\/android-developer-options\/\">Developer Options that can be very useful to anyone. Let\u2019s get started by enabling Developer Mode.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_to_Enable_Developer_Options_on_Android\"><\/span>How to Enable Developer Options on Android<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>First, swipe down once or twice (depending on your device) to fully expand the Quick Settings. Android\u2019s Developer Options screen is now unhidden on your device.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_Is_USB_Debugging_on_Android\"><\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" name=\"autotoc_anchor_2\">What Is USB Debugging on Android?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>One of the most commonly used Developer Options is USB Debugging. We\u2019re about to show you how to enable it, but what does it actually do?<\/p>\n<p>USB Debugging allows a computer to communicate with your Android device. The computer also needs to have <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/125769\/how-to-install-and-use-abd-the-android-debug-bridge-utility\/\">the Android Debug Bridge (ADB) installed\u00a0in order to do this.<\/p>\n<p>With USB Debugging enabled, you can run commands from your computer to boot into certain modes or perform tasks that can\u2019t be activated from the phone itself. It\u2019s needed if you want to root your phone, install a custom ROM, or\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/Genymobile\/scrcpy\">control your phone screen from your PC.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>One thing to keep in mind is enabling USB Debugging can be a security concern. After all, you\u2019re giving your computer access to your phone. That\u2019s why\u2014as you\u2019ll see below\u2014you need to manually grant permission from your phone.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_to_Enable_USB_Debugging_on_Android\"><\/span>How to Enable USB Debugging on Android<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>To enable USB Debugging, you\u2019ll need to go to the Developer Options menu. This will revert all the changes you\u2019ve made and hide the Developer Options once again.
