note to employees, which was also filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission Monday morning.<\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n       \u201cWhat we know is market conditions continue to erode with an uncertain future,\u201d Jeff Clarke, Dell\u2019s<br \/>\n        DELL,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/203822527\/composite\" class=\"negative\">-0.42%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       co-chief operating officer, said in the message. \u201cThe steps we\u2019ve taken to stay ahead of downturn impacts \u2013 which enabled several strong quarters in a row \u2013 are no longer enough. We now have to make additional decisions to prepare for the road ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dell had 133,000 employees as of Jan. 28, 2022, according to its last 10-K filing. The layoffs would amount to 6,650 impacted employees if the company\u2019s staffing levels have stayed constant since the time of the last 10-K. <\/p>\n<p>MarketWatch has reached out to Dell about its latest employee count.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Also read: More than 86,000 tech-sector employees have lost their jobs since the start of the year<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Clarke shared that the job cuts are among a number of \u201cresets\u201d Dell is making to contend with current economic circumstances.
