However, it seems one attendee in particular wasn\u2019t entirely sold on the <em>As It Was<\/em> singer\u2019s <strong>Album of the Year<\/strong> win\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition to Adele, Harry was up against <strong>Beyonc\u00e9<\/strong>, <strong>ABBA<\/strong>, <strong>Bad Bunny<\/strong>, <strong>Mary J. Blige<\/strong>, <strong>Brandi Carlile<\/strong>, and <strong>Coldplay<\/strong> for the coveted award, but was ultimately able to edge them all out. After his name was announced, the <em>Late Night Talking<\/em> singer\u2019s head dropped into his hands as he took in the moment \u2014 seemingly with some degree of disbelief as he was up against such titans of the industry! Why was she so upset?<\/p>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<p>Of course, there\u2019s the obvious answer. Maybe she was upset she lost out? She thought she really deserved it this time and built it up in her mind?? That\u2019s certainly\u00a0<em>possible<\/em>. But it\u2019s pretty rare for a pop star so poised not to be prepared to hear someone else\u2019s name at an award show and cheer for them.<\/p>\n<div style=\"min-height:120px;width:100%;float:none;\">\n<div id=\"section-63e1695294792-paragraph-slot\" class=\"lazyload-unit\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Maybe it\u2019s not that she expected to hear\u00a0<em>her<\/em> name but someone else\u2019s? Like say, the name Beyonc\u00e9?? Yeah, a lot of viewers got the idea she (and everyone else) was annoyed<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> because Queen Bey didn\u2019t take the prize!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After releasing <em>Renaissance<\/em> last summer, many believed an AOTY award was in the bag for the 41-year-old. In addition to becoming the most Grammy-awarded artist in history, a HUGE deal in and of itself, a great many fans, including Adele, thought Bey was also FINALLY deserving of the ceremony\u2019s biggest award to really cement her mark on music history. It would have been her first ever win in the category, as she had notably been snubbed for both her previous self-titled album\u00a0AND <em>Lemonade<\/em>, which is WILD! But instead, she was let down yet again.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<p>If that was Adele\u2019s beef, she wasn\u2019t the only one!\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As Harry took the stage, an audience member could clearly be heard yelling, \u201cBeyonce should have won.\u201d Yikes! The Grammys have done her dirty so much they\u2019ve turned everyone into <strong>Kanye<\/strong>! (2009 Kanye, not the weird 2022 antisemitic one\u2026)<\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"min-height:120px;width:100%;float:none;\">\n<div id=\"section-63e1695294796-paragraph-slot\" class=\"lazyload-unit\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>There is of course, one more possibility. Maybe it\u2019s not about Adele or Bey at all but about Harry himself? Maybe Adele is just fed up with this man!<\/p>\n<p>We all certainly got a lot more of him than we expected late last year during the\u00a0<em>Don\u2019t Worry Darling<\/em> debacle. Given his inane monologue about the movie at the <strong>Venice Film Festival<\/strong>, maybe she didn\u2019t want to sit through whatever speech he had planned \u2014 or not planned as was more likely? And she would have been kind of right. <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Harry delivered probably one of the most out of touch acceptance speeches in recent history\u2026 He began:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cA lot of different times in my life, I listened to everyone in this category when I\u2019m alone and I think like on nights like tonight, it\u2019s obviously so important for us to remember that there is no such thing as best in music. I don\u2019t think any of us sit in the studio thinking, making decisions based on what is gonna get us one of these.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"min-height:120px;width:100%;float:none;\">\n<div id=\"section-63e169529479b-paragraph-slot\" class=\"lazyload-unit\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All fine\u2026 but then he concluded:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThis is really, really kind, I\u2019m so, so grateful. I\u2019m gonna pass it over to my collaborators who are\u2026 I\u2019m just so\u2026. this doesn\u2019t happen to people like me very often and it\u2019s so, so nice, thank you very much.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<p>Sorry, \u201c<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">this doesn\u2019t happen to people like me very often\u201d?? <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hmmm, yeah, because young, white, exceptionally handsome men just can\u2019t get ahead? And being recognized over women \u2014 particularly women of color \u2014 is just so rare??
