It claimed that this was a \u201cdeliberate effort to harm Yuga Labs at the expense of consumers by sowing confusion,\u201d regarding the two collections.<\/p>\n<p>In the settlement,\u00a0Yuga Labs and Lehman agreed on a permanent injunction barring Lehman from using any \u201cconfusingly similar\u201d BAYC imagery or operating any social media accounts insinuating association with the company, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.law360.com\/articles\/1573344\/yuga-labs-ends-suit-against-developer-of-alleged-nft-ripoff\">according<\/a> to Law360.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, Lehman said, \u201cit was never my intention to harm Yuga Labs\u2019s brand, and I reject all disparaging statements made about Yuga Labs and its founders and <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>reciate their many positive contributions to the NFT space.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to Law360, a Yuga spokesperson said the firm was pleased that Lehman \u201cacknowledged his role in assisting former cohorts, Ryder Ripps and Jeremy Cahen, to infringe on Yuga Labs&#8217; trademarks in developing, marketing, and selling counterfeit NFTs.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2023-02\/0187fc5d-5107-4459-b96f-fa052a3e822e.jpg\"><figcaption style=\"text-align: center;\">Ryder Ripps Ape #8774 &#8211; Opensea<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>However, there are separate ongoing cases regarding Ripps\u2019 use of imagery from the BAYC collection. Jeremy Cahen has also been sued for copying and selling the same products on the same platforms as Yuga.<\/p>\n<p>Ripps and Cahen were sued in June, with Yuga alleging that the artists were \u201ctrolling Yuga Labs and scamming consumers\u201d into purchasing their copycats.
