Thankfully, those days are behind us, and now there is a built-in Android screen recorder. We\u2019ll show you how to record your screen on Android.<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Can_You_Screen_Record_on_Android\"><\/span>Can You Screen Record on Android?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>For a long time, if you wanted to make a screen recording of your Android device you needed to use a\u00a0third-party app. However,\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/689335\/the-best-new-features-in-android-11-available-now\/\">Android 11 introduced\u00a0a native screen recorder tool. This is a much better solution.<\/p>\n<p>As long as your Android phone or tablet is running Android 11 or later, you can use the built-in screen recorder tool. However, you\u2019re not out of luck if you have an outdated Android phone. You can still use a third-party tool to record your Android screen. We\u2019ll be covering both the built-in and third-party options in this guide.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RELATED:<\/strong> <strong><em>How to Find Out Which Version of Android You Have<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_to_Record_Screen_on_Android_Without_an_App\"><\/span>How to Record Screen on Android Without an App<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Android\u2019s built-in screen recording tool can be accessed from the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/231078\/use-android-6.0%e2%80%99s-hidden-system-ui-tuner-to-customize-your-quick-settings-and-status-bar\/\">Quick Settings. It can\u2019t be opened from the app drawer. So, before we can use the Screen Recorder, we need to move it into the Quick Settings panel. This process varies depending on your device.<\/p>\n<p>On a Samsung Galaxy phone, swipe down twice from the top of the screen to reveal the full Quick Settings panel. First, you can decide if you\u2019d like to record audio with the screen recording. We like an app called \u201c<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/redirect.viglink.com\/?key=e7eab128eb8d1c53e14db14f4c632447&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Fplay.google.com%2Fstore%2Fapps%2Fdetails%3Fid%3Dcom.hecorat.screenrecorder.free%26amp%3Bhl%3Den_US%26amp%3Bgl%3DUS&amp;cuid=xid:{xid}&amp;___trxnet=vg\">AZ Recorder,<\/a>\u201d which is available for free in the Play Store.<\/p>\n<p>First, open the app and you\u2019ll have a choice to make. You can control the app from a floating toolbar or the notification shade. If you want the pop-up toolbar, you\u2019ll need to tap \u201cAllow\u201d to give the app permission to draw over other apps.
