It hopes to revolutionize search, but Google\u2019s AI tool is off to a terrible start and already making mistakes.<\/p>\n<p>Google is racing to take on Microsoft and Bing, and this new <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a> will certainly face several hurdles.\u00a0As we all already know,\u00a0ChatGPT isn\u2019t all that reliable yet, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/852769\/chatgpt-is-an-impressive-ai-chatbot-that-cant-stop-lying\/\">can\u2019t stop lying<\/a>, and isn\u2019t intelligent the way we want AI to be.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, we\u2019re already seeing something similar from Google\u2019s AI chatbot. During Bard\u2019s launch and first demonstration, Google\u2019s fancy tool said something factually incorrect, and that\u2019s just the tip of the iceberg. Sure, Google already removed the video from <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">YouTube<\/a>, but the mistake is still clearly visible in the announcement <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/blog.google\/technology\/ai\/bard-google-ai-search-updates\/\">blog post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 1920px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-145166\" data-pagespeed-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.reviewgeek.com\/p\/uploads\/2023\/02\/98b9e708.jpg\" alt=\"Google's AI Chatbot bard making a mistake.\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" src=\"\/pagespeed_static\/1.JiBnMqyl6S.gif\" onload=\"pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\" onerror=\"this.onerror=null;pagespeed.lazyLoadImages.loadIfVisibleAndMaybeBeacon(this);\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span class=\"imagecredit\">Google<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>When asked, \u201cwhat new discoveries from the James Webb Space Telescope can I tell my 9-year-old about?\u201d Bard quickly did a Google search, used some AI magic, and spit out three facts about the James Webb Telescope.<\/p>\n<p>However, that last result explains that the JWST took the very first picture of a planet outside our own solar system, which is wrong. <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/exoplanets.nasa.gov\/resources\/300\/2m1207b-first-image-of-an-exoplanet\">According to <em>NASA<\/em><\/a>, and quickly mentioned by a slew of Astronomers on Twitter, the first photo of its kind was taken in 2004 by the ESO Paranal Observatory in Chile.<\/p>\n<p>That doesn\u2019t seem like a huge mistake, but Bard confidently shared incorrect information. The internet was quick to bash Google over the error and confusion, but again, it\u2019s important to remember this is new technology.<\/p>\n<p>Following the mistake, a Google spokesman told <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2023\/2\/8\/23590864\/google-ai-chatbot-bard-mistake-error-exoplanet-demo\"><em>The Verge<\/em><\/a>: <em>\u201cThis highlights the importance of a rigorous testing process, something that we\u2019re kicking off this week with our Trusted Tester program. We\u2019ll combine external feedback with our own internal testing to make sure Bard\u2019s responses meet a high bar for quality, safety, and groundedness in real-world information.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, Bard needs a little more work and is already starting to confirm our worst fears.
