Worry no more.<\/p>\n<div class=\"paywall\">\n<p>We\u2019ve put together three fun, doable winter road trip itineraries, and we even did the legwork to ensure our suggested stops are open year-round.<\/p>\n<p><strong>See<\/strong>: Six towns worth visiting for their historic downtowns<\/p>\n<h6><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Minneapolis_to_Decorah_Iowa_150_miles\"><\/span><strong>Minneapolis to Decorah, Iowa (150 miles)<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h6>\n<p>About halfway through this gorgeous drive, you\u2019ll come upon the small town of\u00a0Cannon Falls. Stop for a snack at the aptly named\u00a0Sweet Kneads\u00a0(the cookies are particularly good,) then poke around the historic downtown and check out the Cannon River that runs through the city. No road trip is complete without a photo of a strange roadside statue or novelty water tower, so you should take the extra five minutes to Instagram\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/maps.roadtrippers.com\/us\/rochester-mn\/attractions\/corn-water-tower?lng=-92.49856939129376&amp;lat=44.002193881689095&amp;z=10.93150913590031&amp;a2=p!vp*1*5,t!23891893\" class=\"icon none\">Rochester\u2019s corn-shaped water tower.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>If you packed your snowshoes or skies, stop at\u00a0<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dnr.state.mn.us\/state_parks\/park.html?id=spk00148#homepage\" class=\"icon none\">Forestville State Park<\/a>\u00a0and enjoy the 60+ miles of trail. Hit the road early and stop in\u00a0Rockford\u00a0for breakfast at\u00a0The Stockholm Inn\u2014try their Swedish pancakes with lingonberries or salt herrings.
