But what if they could become a new mode of mass transport? Yes, we\u2019re talking about the hyperloop.<\/p>\n<p>One of the companies working on the tech is<span>\u00a0<\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"c-link\" tabindex=\"-1\" href=\"https:\/\/hardt.global\/\" data-stringify-link=\"https:\/\/hardt.global\/\" data-sk=\"tooltip_parent\" data-remove-tab-index=\"true\">Hardt Hyperloop<\/a>. Since 2020, the Netherlands-based startup has developed numerous prototypes and test benches. It\u2019s also part of the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/europeanhyperloopcenter.com\/\">European Hyperloop Center<\/a> and has received \u20ac15 million in funding from the EU Commission.<\/p>\n<p>The company is developing hyperloop tech for passengers and cargo, enabling travel through a network of low-pressure tubes using magnetic levitation. The pods are expected to reach a 700km\/h cruising speed and a 1,000km\/h top speed, drastically reducing travel time. And sustainability-wise, the system doesn\u2019t produce direct emissions and can be powered by green electricity.<\/p>\n<div class=\"inarticle-wrapper channel-cta\">\n<div class=\"ica-text\">\n<h4><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Discover_the_future_of_tech\"><\/span>Discover the future of tech!<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Join us at TNW Conference June 15 &amp; 16 in Amsterdam<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>We caught up with Mars Geuze \u2014 Hardt Hyperloops\u2019 Chief Commercial Officer \u2014 at TNW 2022 and asked him what\u2019s hyperloop\u2019s advantage and which modes of transport are over- or underrated. The result was a fast-paced, fun video, which you can find embedded at the top of this article, or <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=qCeyGjsMQzo&amp;ab_channel=TNW\">watch right here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Geuze argues that hyperloop is still underrated, even though it can travel with 10 times less energy than aviation, or road transport. But optimistically, \u201cin the latest survey, there was about 35% acceptance rating, scoring higher than autonomous cars,\u201d he told us.<\/p>\n<p>Trains and buses are underrated for Geuze as well.
