Called \u201cOpen Exchange (OPNX)\u201d, the new project alleges that it will be \u201cthe world&#8217;s first public marketplace for crypto claims trading and derivatives,\u201d according to a tweet from the project\u2019s official <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a> account.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">1\/ Introducing Open Exchange.<\/p>\n<p>Open Exchange will start as the world&#8217;s first public marketplace for crypto claims trading and derivatives.<\/p>\n<p>Then become the world&#8217;s most radically transparent CEX.<\/p>\n<p>The claims waitlist is now open @ <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Q2HsUqSZ7E\">https:\/\/t.co\/Q2HsUqSZ7E<\/a> <\/p>\n<p>\u2014 OPNX Official (@OPNX_Official) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/OPNX_Official\/status\/1623728281127202823?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 9, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>In a Feb. 9 Twitter thread that reposted the announcement, 3AC founder Zhu Su <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/zhusu\/status\/1623734703596486658\">stated<\/a> the project was born out of a desire to atone and recover from past mistakes, as he explained:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cJune\/july was total darkness for me, kyle &amp; our creditors after our bet on accelerating crypto adoption proved fatally wrong. We were crushed by the collapse of the market &amp; the way our misplaced conviction had contributed to the pain. It was a dark period and we were not perfect in how we handled the fallout, but we were determined to do all we could [to] build something that takes all the pain\/lessons &amp; uses it to advance crypto\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Zhu Su claimed that the new exchange will provide \u201crealtime public cryptographic audits\u201d that will ensure \u201call user funds are provably untouched.\u201d It will begin as a claims trading service, but will later expand to include FX, stocks, and \u201cinnovative products\u201d on its platform. This will provide \u201cthe best of cefi and defi combined,\u201d according to the 3AC founder.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Related: <\/strong><strong>Bankruptcy lawyers say 3AC co-founder Kyle Davies is ignoring his duties<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Crypto hedge fund 3AC went bankrupt in July, shortly after it had endured losses from Terra Luna network collapsing two months earlier. <\/p>\n<p>On Jan. 16, The proposal for lending platform CoinFLEX and 3AC to create a new exchange was leaked to the public in the form of a powerpoint on Jan. 16. At the time, the exchange was referred to as \u201cGTX.\u201d The leak caused a public outcry amongst some CoinFLEX creditors, who objected to the company associating with the failed 3AC hedge fund.
