This feature could reduce the need for standalone RGB software like Corsair iCue and Razer Chroma, but only if it receives support from RGB lighting brands.<\/p>\n<p>The new \u201clighting\u201d controls are pretty rudimentary. They let you adjust RGB brightness, color, effects, and animation speed. Plus, you can match RGB colors to your Windows <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">theme<\/a>. But that\u2019s about it\u2014this feature still has plenty of room to grow.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">New settings for device lighting make an appearance in build 25295. Is this the beginning of the end for low quality RGB <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">game<\/a>r gear apps? \ud83c\udfae The spec for this is from 2018 and references to the feature have been around for years. Not cancelled after all \ud83e\udd73<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/oG4JbKsoeB\">https:\/\/t.co\/oG4JbKsoeB<\/a> <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/bMtxCH8REo\">pic.twitter.com\/bMtxCH8REo<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Albacore (@thebookisclosed) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/thebookisclosed\/status\/1623834738338168832?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 10, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Screenshots of the new controls were shared on <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a> by <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/thebookisclosed\/status\/1623834738338168832\">Albacore<\/a>, who also tracked down the <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.usb.org\/sites\/default\/files\/hutrr84_-_lighting_and_illumination_page.pdf\">original specs from 2018<\/a>. It appears that these native \u201clighting\u201d controls were first developed (and shelved) during the Windows 10 era. Interestingly, the spec mentions three forms of RGB peripheral\u2014external accessories (mice, keyboards, headsets), internal devices (RAM sticks, CPU fans), and \u201clight bulbs.\u201d We hope that this is a reference to smart lighting products; brands like Govee\u00a0already offer RGB support with software like Razer Chroma.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, dedicated RGB control software is some very complicated stuff. Microsoft will need to work hard to compete with existing solutions, and realistically, it will need support from RGB peripheral brands to get the job done.<\/p>\n<p>Again, these built-in RGB controls are hidden behind a flag in the latest Windows 11 Insider Preview release.
