Binance has been the object of increasing scrutiny from U.S. regulators in recent weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Bloomberg <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2023-02-17\/binance-holdings-explores-retreat-from-the-us-as-crypto-crackdown-escalates?sref=323RPL5z\">reported<\/a>\u00a0on Feb. 17 that Binance Holdings \u201cis looking at whether to sever ties with inter<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>ry firms such as banks and services firms and is reassessing venture-capital investments in the US,\u201d citing an unnamed source. The source added that tokens from U.S.-based projects, such as Circle\u2019s USD Coin (USDC), may be delisted. <\/p>\n<p>On the same day, in response to a report on the Bloomberg report, Zhao, often known as CZ, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/cz_binance\/status\/1626617772019965952\">tweeted<\/a> \u201c4. False\u201d in <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>arent reference to his New Year\u2019s tweet of \u201cDo\u2019s and Don\u2019ts,\u201d where the fourth item on the list was \u201cIgnore FUD, fake <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a>, attacks, etc.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>CZ stated in a separate tweet, \u201cWe pulled back on some potential investments, or bids on bankrupt companies in the US for now.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">We pulled back on some potential investments, or bids on bankrupt companies in the US for now. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is reportedly looking at ties\u00a0between Binance.US and trading firms with direct connections to CZ.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Related: Binance CEO: Crypto industry will probably move to non-dollar stablecoins<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Binance, but not Binance.US, suspended bank transfers in U.S. dollars on Feb. 8 without explanation, but the action hinted at banking problems. On Feb. 13, the New York Department of Financial Services ordered Paxos Trust to stop minting the dollar-pegged Binance stablecoin BUSD after reports that the\u00a0SEC was preparing a suit over the coin.
