(Photo by Cooper Neill\/Getty Images)<\/figcaption><\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Billionaire Jeff Bezos looks like he&#8217;s inching closer to placing a bid for the Washington Commanders after he reportedly hired investment firm Allen &amp; Company, according to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-i13n=\"cpos:1;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/story\/_\/id\/35721747\/jeff-bezos-hires-firm-help-consider-bid-commanders\" data-ylk=\"slk:ESPN's Jeff Keim;cpos:1;pos:1\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">ESPN&#8217;s Jeff Keim<\/a>. Allen &amp; Company also <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-i13n=\"cpos:2;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/denver-broncos-announce-sale-agreement-to-walton-penner-group-for-reported-465-billion-034539172.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:helped the Walton-Penner group buy;cpos:2;pos:1;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp yahoo-link\">helped the Walton-Penner group buy<\/a> the Denver Broncos for $4.65 billion in 2022 and <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-i13n=\"cpos:3;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/news\/david-tepper-approved-new-owner-panthers-implies-team-staying-put-210302699.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:David Tepper buy;cpos:3;pos:1;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp yahoo-link\">David Tepper buy<\/a> the Carolina Panthers in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Bezos, 59, is the former CEO of Amazon and the current owner of The Washington Post. He&#8217;s also worth a reported $116.4 billion, per <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-i13n=\"cpos:4;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/real-time-billionaires\/#21566df43d78\" data-ylk=\"slk:Forbes;cpos:4;pos:1\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">Forbes<\/a>, which makes him the third-richest person in the world. If he bought the Commanders, Bezos would be the richest owner in the NFL and in all of sports. Los Angeles Clippers team owner Steve Ballmer is currently the richest owner in sports with a reported net worth of $80.8 billion, per Forbes.<\/p>\n<p>Bezos hasn&#8217;t officially submitted a bid for the team and reportedly missed the first-round deadline of Dec. 23, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-i13n=\"cpos:5;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/frontofficesports.com\/jeff-bezos-has-yet-to-officially-bid-on-washington-commanders\/\" data-ylk=\"slk:according to Front Office Sports;cpos:5;pos:1\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">according to Front Office Sports<\/a>. Reports of <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-i13n=\"cpos:6;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/jeff-bezos-amazon-reportedly-interested-in-bidding-on-washington-commanders-snyder-214031833.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:Bezos' interest in the Commanders;cpos:6;pos:1;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp yahoo-link\">Bezos&#8217; interest in the Commanders<\/a> first surfaced in November, days after current <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-i13n=\"cpos:7;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/commanders-owner-dan-snyder-exploring-all-options-in-possible-sale-of-team-161350372.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:owner Dan Snyder hired;cpos:7;pos:1;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp yahoo-link\">owner Dan Snyder hired<\/a> Bank of America Securities to &#8220;consider potential transactions.&#8221; R<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>er and Roc Nation founder Jay-Z is rumored to be involved in Bezos&#8217; ownership group as well.<\/p>\n<p>The only known suitor for the Commanders is private equity investor Josh Harris, who owns the Philadelphia 76ers, New Jersey Devils and Crystal Palace. He reportedly toured the team facility in early February, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-i13n=\"cpos:8;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/theathletic.com\/4180526\/2023\/02\/10\/washington-commanders-sale-josh-harris-dan-snyder\/\" data-ylk=\"slk:according to the Athletic;cpos:8;pos:1\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">according to the Athletic<\/a>. Harris reportedly would offer $5 billion for the team, per <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-i13n=\"cpos:9;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/profootballtalk.nbcsports.com\/2022\/06\/08\/source-josh-harris-would-have-paid-5-billion-for-the-broncos-if-he-knew-that-would-get-the-deal-done\/\" data-ylk=\"slk:Pro Football Talk;cpos:9;pos:1\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">Pro Football Talk<\/a>, slightly more than the record $4.65 billion it took to buy the Broncos this past year. But Snyder reportedly wants no less than $6 billion for the Commanders, according to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-i13n=\"cpos:10;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CGasparino\/status\/1629117417996660737?s=20\" data-ylk=\"slk:Fox Business' Charles Gasparino;cpos:10;pos:1\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">Fox Business&#8217; Charles Gasparino<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Businessman Todd Boehly, who became the co-owner of the English Premier League&#8217;s Chelsea Football Club in 2022, reportedly pulled out of contention for ownership of the Commanders in January, according to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-i13n=\"cpos:11;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcsports.com\/washington\/commanders\/sources-commanders-sale-coming-soon-top-candidates-take-shape\" data-ylk=\"slk:NBC Sports' J.P.
