Without mentioning former President <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-i13n=\"cpos:3;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/hub\/donald-trump\" data-ylk=\"slk:Donald Trump;cpos:3;pos:1\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">Donald Trump<\/a>, she noted in a weekend <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook<\/a> post that his unconventional White House win makes it \u201codd for anyone to think they can know who can win the presidency.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not putting myself through this again just to add to the conversation,\u201d Williamson wrote. \u201cI\u2019m running for president to help bring an aberrational chapter of our history to a close, and to help bring forth a new beginning.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Williamson, 70, says she plans to follow her Washington announcement with <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">travel<\/a> to states voting early in the Democratic primary. That includes New Hampshire, where she&#8217;s suggested she&#8217;d participate in the state\u2019s primary if it defies Democratic National Committee rules and holds the nation\u2019s first presidential nominating contest despite the party <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-i13n=\"cpos:4;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/politics-georgia-2022-midterm-elections-south-carolina-83f6ea9bd64e567bb1ed55d734474b89\" data-ylk=\"slk:making South Carolina its leadoff state;cpos:4;pos:1\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">making South Carolina its leadoff state<\/a> for 2024.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI feel my forty years being up close and personal with the trauma of so many thousands of individuals gives me a unique perspective on what is needed to help repair America,\u201d Williamson wrote. \u201cWe need a politics that treats not just symptoms, but cause. That does not base itself on the crass imperatives of endless corporate profit, but on the eternal imperatives of our principles and values.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Williamson is the only Democrat in the race \u2014 for now. Biden hasn\u2019t yet announced a formal reelection bid that aides say is likely coming in April.<\/p>\n<p>Her primary challenge of a sitting president from her own party would be the longest of long shots under any circumstances. But that\u2019s especially true this cycle, as the Democratic establishment \u2014 and <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-i13n=\"cpos:5;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/biden-politics-united-states-government-new-hampshire-south-carolina-96565bceed6146d2156d03de5563128a\" data-ylk=\"slk:even potential presidential hopefuls who could have competed with Biden;cpos:5;pos:1\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">even potential presidential hopefuls who could have competed with Biden<\/a> from the left or middle \u2014 has closed ranks with remarkable uniformity behind the president.<\/p>\n<p>A spiritual adviser to Oprah Winfrey and purveyor of physic memorabilia online, Williamson spent about a year seeking the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>One of <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-i13n=\"cpos:6;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/politics-ap-top-news-religion-race-and-ethnicity-atlanta-c389914e66b74ceaa98655d1465efa81\" data-ylk=\"slk:her signature proposals;cpos:6;pos:1\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">her signature proposals<\/a> was a plan to create a U.S. Department of Peace. She also advocated that the federal government pay massive financial reparations to Black Americans as atonement for centuries of slavery and discrimination.<\/p>\n<p>She suspended her campaign in the weeks before 2020\u2032s leadoff Iowa caucus and later endorsed Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders\u2019 2020 bid. He finished second in the Democratic primary against Biden.<\/p>\n<p>The author of more than a dozen books and an unsuccessful independent candidate for Congress from California in 2014, Williamson first made a name for herself on the national political stage during the 2016 presidential race.
