He was 66 years old.<\/p>\n<p>He and Madge had been very close at points in their younger years. But in more recent times, the 64-year-old superstar had been estranged from her older brother. In recent years, Anthony had been homeless and living on the street and under bridges in the family\u2019s home state of Michigan.<\/p>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<p><strong>Related: Swimming Champ\u2019s Death Under Investigation After She Was Found By Boyfriend<\/strong><\/p>\n<div style=\"min-height:120px;width:100%;float:none;\">\n<div id=\"section-63fe0c52e6eb8-paragraph-slot\" class=\"lazyload-unit\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>However, according to more recent reports, it <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ears Anthony had gotten back into a better housing situation. According to\u00a0<em>People<\/em>, he had been living in a rehab facility over the past few months as his health slowly gave out.\u00a0And the end of his life has hit the entire family hard \u2014 Madge included.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, the\u00a0<em>Material Girl<\/em> singer took to her\u00a0<strong>Instagram Stories<\/strong> to mourn Anthony\u2019s passing with a touching photo and a short but very sweet message. The A-list performer showed off an old pic from the 1980s in which she and Anthony were surrounded by friends at a table and laughing during better, happier times. Along with the vintages snap, Madonna praised her late brother for \u201cblowing my mind\u201d with some of the artistic influences he pushed onto her when they were young.<\/p>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<p>The <em>Like A Virgin<\/em> singer wrote:<\/p>\n<div style=\"min-height:120px;width:100%;float:none;\">\n<div id=\"section-63fe0c52e6ebd-paragraph-slot\" class=\"lazyload-unit\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThank you for blowing my mind as a young girl and introducing me to:\u00a0Charlie Parker,\u00a0Miles Davis,\u00a0Buddhism,\u00a0Taoism,\u00a0Charles Bukowski,\u00a0Richard Brautigan,\u00a0Jack Kerouac,\u00a0Expansive Thinking Outside the Box. For an artist who has always been soulful and focused on impactful self-expression like Madonna, there may be no greater compliment than that.<\/p>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<p>As for her relationship with Anthony, it appears the two may have been able to mend things recently. Or, at least they seem to have been able to reconnect a bit in the months before his death. An insider spoke to <em>People<\/em> about the situation leading up to last week\u2019s tragedy, saying:<\/p>\n<div style=\"min-height:120px;width:100%;float:none;\">\n<div id=\"section-63fe0c52e6ec2-paragraph-slot\" class=\"lazyload-unit\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201c[Though they were] estranged, Madonna supported him in every way she could when he was willing to take the support. Family members including Madonna visited him while in his rehab facility as he declined these past few months.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Wow. So sad \u2014 but we hope those visits were meaningful and helpful for all involved.<\/p>\n<div class=\"clear\"><\/div>\n<p>Anthony\u2019s death first came to light over the weekend when Madonna\u2019s brother-in-law <strong>Joe Henry<\/strong> \u2014 who is married to Madge\u2019s sister\u00a0<strong>Melanie Ciccone<\/strong> \u2014 revealed the awful event on social media. As brother Dave Henry (who took this photograph) notes here,\u00a0Anthony was a complex character; and god knows: we tangled in moments, as true brothers can. But I loved him, and understood him better than I was sometimes willing to let on. But trouble fades; and family remains -\u2014 with hands reached across the table. Farewell, then, brother Anthony. I want to think the god your blessed mother (and mine) believed in has her there, waiting to receive you.
