“#Rand Paul says he feared being killed during clash with BLM activists<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

\n Sen. Rand Paul, who was surrounded by a rowdy group of Black Lives Matter protesters in Washington, DC, after the Republican National Convention, on Friday said he believed he could have been killed had cops not protected him \u2013 and suggested the troublemakers were hired, out-of-town thugs.<\/p>\n

Video posted on social media<\/a> showed the Kentucky Republican and his wife being confronted by the mob as Metro Police struggled to protect them.<\/p>\n

The protesters could be heard shouting \u201cNo Justice, No Peace\u201d and \u201cSay Her Name,\u201d referring to Breonna Taylor, a 26-year-old emergency medical tech who was shot March 13 when cops burst into her Louisville apartment using a no-knock warrant during a narcotics probe.<\/p>\n

The warrant to search her home involved a suspect who did not live there, and no drugs were found.<\/p>\n

Taylor\u2019s name has been a rallying cry among demonstrators during recent protests against racial inequality and police brutality.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was horrific and we had two women with us who were friends of ours,\u201d Rand said Friday morning on \u201cFox & Friends,\u201d where he said that he, his wife and the others were not hurt.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur hotel was right across the street from the White House but he couldn\u2019t go because the mob was already chasing people down that chose to go out that exit, so the Secret Service says get on a bus and ride to the Trump hotel,\u201d Paul said.<\/p>\n

He said they decided to walk the final couple of blocks because streets had been blocked, but came face to face with \u201ca mob of about 30 people marching and yelling.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThey all of a sudden saw me, right as we got to the police, unfortunately. I don\u2019t think we would have survived,\u201d Rand said, adding that the crowd swelled to 60 and then 120 before he asked a cop to call for reinforcements.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey were trying to push the police over to get to me. They were grabbing at us, and it got worse and worse and worse, and finally, we decided to make a move. \u2026 they were shouting threats to us, to kill us, to hurt us, but also threats saying shout, shouting, \u2018Say her name,\u2019\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou couldn\u2019t reason with this but I\u2019m actually the author of the Taylor Law to end no-knock raids so the irony is lost on these idiots \u2014 they are trying to kill the person actually trying to get rid of no-knock raids and they were shouting and screaming,\u201d Paul continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf the police are not there \u2026 if we become Portland, if America becomes Portland, what\u2019s going to happ<\/a>en is people are going to be pummeled and kicked in the head and left senseless on the curb,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat would have happened to us, I promise you, had we not had the DC police to support us. We are thankful we have police, and we\u2019ve got to wake up,\u201d the senator continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe can\u2019t have Joe Biden rule the country and have no police. I mean, we can\u2019t walk down the street in DC \u2014 that\u2019s how bad it is,\u201d he said, adding that he thinks the thugs were brought in from out of state.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think we\u2019re going to find out that these people are hired and from out of town specifically in our case. I believe there are going to be people who are involved with the attack on us that actually were paid to come here, are not from Washington, DC, and are sort of paid to be anarchists,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s become so dangerous for us and I don\u2019t hear Joe Biden or Kamala Harris saying one thing about the violence. This mob is their voters. This is the new Democrat party, and if we don\u2019t resist this, the United States is going to become Portland.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cMy feeling is that there is interstate criminal traffic being paid for across state lines, but you won\u2019t know it unless you arrest them.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
