The firm added that Trezor has not found any evidence of a database breach.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2023-03\/d7842ced-c2b0-483d-9e4f-ad4961f542a5.jpeg\"><figcaption style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>A fake SMS from scammers posing as Trezor. Source: Twitter<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>According to online reports, the latest phishing attack against Trezor customers was <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bleepingcomputer.com\/news\/security\/trezor-warns-of-massive-crypto-wallet-phishing-campaign\/\">launched<\/a> on Feb. 27, with users being directed to a domain asking to enter their recovery seed. The domain provides a perfectly-made fake Trezor website that prompts users to start securing their wallet by clicking the \u201cStart\u201d button.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2023-03\/e863f1fc-893f-4ac3-a2f8-15a9942547be.png\"><figcaption style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>A screenshot from a phishing domain copying Trezor\u2019s website. Source: Bleeping Computer<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>After clicking the \u201cStart\u201d button, users will be asked to provide the recovery phrase for their cryptocurrency wallet.<\/p>\n<p>The wallet\u2019s recovery phrase, also known as private keys, is the most important part of self-custody, or \u201cbeing your own bank\u201d by keeping your crypto on a software or hardware non-custodial wallet. The safety of the recovery phrase is way more important than keeping the hardware wallet safe, and once the private keys are stolen, it means that crypto holdings no longer belong to their original owner.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Related: <\/em><\/strong><strong><em>Notorious Monkey Drainer crypto scammer says they\u2019re \u2018shutting down\u2019<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> came shortly after metaverse firm The Sandbox <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/sandboxgame.medium.com\/notice-of-security-incident-february-2023-ea692ee8094b\">suffered<\/a> a data breach on Feb. 26, that resulted in a phishing email sent to users.<\/p>\n<p>The latest phishing attack against Trezor customers is not the first scam of such kind. Trezor wallets were also targeted with phishing attacks in April 2022, with attackers contacting Trezor users posing as the company, asking them to <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">download<\/a> a fake Trezor app.<\/p>\n<p>Such attacks are not exclusive to Trezor though.
