LOUIS (AP) \u2014 The former star of St. Louis-based television reality show \u201cWelcome to Sweetie Pie&#8217;s\u201d was sentenced Thursday to life in prison for arranging <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-i13n=\"cpos:1;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/3d72efec3902454385c99b9c0f55391d\" data-ylk=\"slk:the shooting death of his nephew;cpos:1;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">the shooting death of his nephew<\/a> to collect a life insurance payment.<\/p>\n<p>James \u201cTim\u201d Norman did not speak on his own behalf at the sentencing hearing in the March 2016 killing of his 21-year-old nephew, Andre Montgomery Jr. Both men had starred in the long-running OWN reality show about the family\u2019s soul food business in the St. Louis area.<\/p>\n<p>Norman&#8217;s attorneys submitted several letters from family and friends asking for leniency, including from Norman\u2019s mother and founder of the Sweetie Pie\u2019s restaurants, Robbie Montgomery.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t know whether Tim did what he was accused and convicted of,\u201d wrote Robbie Montgomery, who is also the victim&#8217;s grandmother. \u201cHe is still the baby that I bore, and I love him as every mother involved loves their child.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors said Norman took out a out a life insurance policy worth $450,000 on Montgomery and arranged to have him lured to a street in St. Louis, where another man shot him.<\/p>\n<p>Several of Andre Montgomery\u2019s family members, including his mother, Michell Griggs, asked that Norman be sentenced to life, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-i13n=\"cpos:2;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.stltoday.com\/news\/local\/crime-and-courts\/former-sweetie-pie-s-tv-star-tim-norman-gets-two-life-sentences-in-nephews-death\/article_2533a8d8-8e7d-50e8-8c86-a60e57a29add.html#tracking-source=home-top-story\" data-ylk=\"slk:reported.;cpos:2;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">reported.<\/a> U.S. District Judge John A. Ross gave him two life sentences, calling it &#8220;a cold-blooded, incredibly premeditated, planned execution of your nephew.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Norman <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-i13n=\"cpos:3;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/entertainment-tv-crime-shootings-a064eac89f93ed23a38dabe75f51b602\" data-ylk=\"slk:was convicted in September;cpos:3;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">was convicted in September<\/a> of conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire, murder-for-hire and conspiracy to commit fraud.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Travel<\/a>l Anthony Hill admitted that he shot Montgomery in exchange for $5,000. Hill, 31, of St. Louis, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-i13n=\"cpos:4;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/entertainment-st-louis-crime-tv-2e3c5efb189be48df5b221897cdfd1bf\" data-ylk=\"slk:was sentenced;cpos:4;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">was sentenced<\/a> in October to 32 years in prison. Terica Taneisha Ellis, now 39, from Memphis, Tennessee, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-i13n=\"cpos:5;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/legal-proceedings-st-louis-prisons-8d1963fcc8060f969cc2404635af1591\" data-ylk=\"slk:was sentenced;cpos:5;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">was sentenced<\/a> to three years in prison after admitting that Norman paid her $10,000 to find Montgomery and tell Hill his location.<\/p>\n<p>A fourth person, insurance agent Waiel \u201cWally\u201d Rebhi Yaghnam, was sentenced to three years in prison for helping Norman fraudulently <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ly for several insurance policies and file a claim on Montgomery&#8217;s life insurance policy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
