The crypto industry has &#8216;already started&#8217; moving outside US, says Ripple CEO  &#8220;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h1>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/images.cointelegraph.com\/images\/840_aHR0cHM6Ly9zMy5jb2ludGVsZWdyYXBoLmNvbS91cGxvYWRzLzIwMjMtMDMvZTEzMTFjZTAtNTU5MC00MTUzLTlmODMtOTk2MTczOWI4MDQ4LmpwZw==.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<div class=\"post-content\" data-v-48054ca8>The United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) regulation through \u201cenforcement,\u201d as opposed to \u201cdoing the work,\u201d is not a \u201chealthy way\u201d to regulate an industry, and may result in the U.S. being a less attractive place for crypto innovation, suggests Ripple\u2019s CEO.<\/p>\n<p>In a Mar. 3 Bloomberg<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2023-03-02\/ripple-ceo-garlinghouse-expects-a-decision-on-sec-suit-this-year\"> interview<\/a>, blockchain-based digital payment network Ripple\u2019s CEO Brad Garlinghouse, suggested that the SEC&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>roach to regulation is putting the U.S. at \u201csevere risk\u201d of not being a hub for the next evolution of blockchain and crypto innovation.<\/p>\n<p>Garlinghouse noted that the regulator\u2019s case against Ripple, is them simply playing \u201coffense\u201d and \u201cattacking\u201d the industry as a whole, adding that if the SEC is \u201cable to prevail,\u201d there will be \u201ca lot of other cases.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He suggested that the crypto industry has \u201calready started moving outside\u201d of the U.S., given its crypto regulation process is &#8220;behind&#8221; other countries such as \u201cAustralia, UK, Japan, Singapore and Switzerland.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He commended these countries for taking &#8220;the time and thoughtfulness\u201d to create \u201cclear rules of the road,\u201d adding that the approach taken by the U.S. is not a \u201chealthy way to regulate an industry.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Garlinghouse said when he \u201cfirst got into the tech industry in the late 90s,\u201d there were calls for the internet to be banned, due to \u201cillicit activity,\u201d but the government said \u201cno, we\u2019re going to create a framework.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said to \u201clook at the benefits\u201d that brought to the U.S. on a \u201cgeopolitical basis,\u201d to have the &#8220;Amazon&#8217;s and Google\u2019s,&#8221; based in the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>Garlinghouse believes that crypto frameworks should start with \u201cclear protections for consumers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added that consumers are suffering from the \u201clag,\u201d saying that they don\u2019t have the \u201csame protection\u201d that the U.S. regulatory frameworks can provide.<\/p>\n<p>Garlinghouse believes that a decision should come this year regarding the SEC\u2019s case against Ripple.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Related:<\/em><\/strong><strong><em> <\/em><\/strong><strong><em>Ripple survey: 97% of payment firms believe in the power of crypto<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>John Deaton, founder of legal <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> outlet Crypto Law Lawyer put a call-to-action to his 245,000 <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">twitter<\/a> followers on Mar. 5 stating that all companies in \u201cactive litigation\u201d with the SEC, should collaborate and develop \u201ccoordinated strategies,\u201d adding that it is \u201cwar.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">We must think out of the  and organize.
