He <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/stan3web\/status\/1631702970688471068\">shared<\/a> the unverified information on March 3 during the Bankless Show podcast. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cMany wells notices have been issued to many of the DeFi <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>s. [&#8230;] Wells notices have got shot out across the industry in the last week. It has not come to light yet,\u201d he said, before noting that \u201cI think Lido got one.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On the same day, Hoffman clarified on <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a> that Lido had denied the claim and apologized for naming the protocol in the rumor. &#8220;Lido doesn&#8217;t deserve to be focused on specifically here,&#8221; he said, before reiterating that unannounced wells notices had been sent to crypto companies:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;After checking in with other sources, it seems <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a>ly assumed that there are Wells Notices out there that are unannounced, but it&#8217;s impossible to tell how many, or how recently they&#8217;ve been served.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The rumor led to nearly a 20% decrease in the Lido DAO (LDO) token price on March 3,<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/coinmarketcap.com\/currencies\/lido-dao\/\"> according<\/a> to CoinMarketCap data. Essentially, it&#8217;s a letter telling a company about an impending enforcement action.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Stablecoin issuer Paxos recently received a wells notice from the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for allegedly violating investor protection laws in relation to its Binance USD (BUSD) token, which the commission claims is an unregistered security. <\/p>\n<p>Rumors about wells notices recently hit the USD Coin issuer Circle.
