\n A man from Minnesota has just secured the Guinness World Record for the world\u2019s tallest mohawk, an accomplishment that undoubtedly makes up for the fact that he will never fit through the doorway of his loved ones\u2019 homes ever again.<\/p>\n

Joseph Grisamore, a social<\/a> worker from Park Rapids, began his quest for a Guinness record back in 2007, but refused to shave the sides of his head \u2014 a requirement for any \u201cfull Mohican\u201d mohawk, according to Guinness World Records. He instead tried for the title of \u201ctallest spike mohawk\u201d but failed, by his own admission.<\/p>\n

Thirteen years later, however, he officially nabbed a Guinness World Record title with his current \u201cfull Mohican mohawk\u201d measuring 42.5 inches.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I was first informed that I\u2019d become a Guinness World Records title holder, I was over the top. Having a goal become a reality is always a thankful experience,\u201d said Grisamore, whose feat will forever be etched in history via the 2021 edition of the Guinness book.<\/p>\n

Oddly, however, the Guinness World Record for \u201ctallest mohican hairstyle\u201d app<\/a>ears to belong to a Japanese man named Kazuhiro Watanabe, whose \u2018do measured a few inches taller than Grisamore\u2019s at 44.68 inches, and was recognized in 2011. A representative for Guinness World Records was not immediately available to explain the distinction, though it\u2019s possible Watanabe\u2019s hairstyle does not qualify as a proper mohawk.<\/p>\n

Grisamore\u2019s own journey to follicle-based fame didn\u2019t come easy, though. After abandoning his first attempt to snag a title, Grisamore fashioned his hair into dreadlocks. But this style wasn\u2019t conducive to a mohawk, so he \u201cstarted from scratch\u201d and grew his hair out over the course of seven years, according to Guinness World Records.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe best hair advice I can give for men is \u2026 don\u2019t cut your hair,\u201d joked Grisamore. Then again, maybe that\u2019s not a joke \u2014 Grisamore\u2019s wife Laura claims she finds his hair \u201cvery sexy.\u201d<\/p>\n

When it\u2019s not in mohawk form, Grisamore says he likes to keep his hair in braids. Then again, it\u2019s unclear how often he\u2019ll be braiding his hair after this, seeing as he\u2019s already getting accustomed to his new lifestyle as self-dubbed \u201cmohawk king.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cDoors aren\u2019t over 7 feet tall, ceilings 9 feet, and cars are impossible to get into \u2014 so I\u2019m limited to where and how I move around when I\u2019m all done up,\u201d says Grisamore. \u201cBut the crowd usually comes to me.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
