This role model shows them the ins and outs of being a hero, recites heartwarming speeches, gives us a few laughs then, well, <em><strong>dies<\/strong><\/em>. The protag cries, swears vengeance on, quote, &ldquo;The Ultimate Evil,&rdquo; then becomes the hero they were always meant to be.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This is why I try to <strong>NOT<\/strong> get attached to the &ldquo;I wanna be just like you&rdquo; characters. Real talk: They have a death flag tattooed on their foreheads! Unfortunately, I&rsquo;m notoriously bad at taking my own advice, so I&rsquo;ve grown quite fond of Yagi &ldquo;All Might&rdquo; Toshinori, who has broken the mold by not dying. And I like him not because of what he teaches his young successor, but because he&rsquo;s an absolute disaster (in a very good and positive way!).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Disaster_Icon\"><\/span><span style=\"font-size:26px\"><strong>The Disaster Icon<\/strong><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"All Might\" src=\"https:\/\/img1.ak.crunchyroll.com\/i\/spire4\/15f72e33cff27a9432d3709f52bb1db81678131807_main.png\" style=\"width: 640px;height: 365px\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Did you know that All Might single-handedly saved a hundred people with a smile? He also coughs up blood on a regular basis. Yeah, All Might shouldn&rsquo;t be doing hero work, so he passes down his amazing Quirk to his self-<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ointed number-one fan, Izuku &ldquo;Deku&rdquo; Midoriya.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>But All Might doesn&rsquo;t have much experience when it comes to teaching.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>While he certainly inspires the youth of the nation, All Might&rsquo;s training methods are&hellip; questionable. It&rsquo;s hard to forget the image of an entire classroom of students telling him to stop <em>Deku vs. Kacchan<\/em> (part one) and I&rsquo;ll cringe every time I see a .GIF of him <em>literally coughing up blood!!!<\/em> while telling Deku to move trash around.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><em>RELATED:&nbsp;<span style=\"color:#f39c12\">All My Hero Academia Arcs in Order<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>There&rsquo;s a reason why Aizawa, Recovery Girl, Gran Torino and even Nezu end their conversations with All Might via heavy sighs and major side-eye.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>At least he&rsquo;s knowledgeable about <em>One For All<\/em>&hellip; assuming he knows everything about the Quirk (he doesn&rsquo;t) and assuming he tells Deku vital information in a timely manner (nope).&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>On the outside, All Might is a symbol that everyone idolizes, but deep down he&rsquo;s just like the rest of us: scrambling to figure out how to make sense of himself and the rest of the world. That&rsquo;s not a bad thing.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Overworked_Hero\"><\/span><span style=\"font-size:26px\"><strong>The Overworked Hero<\/strong><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Yagi Toshinori\" src=\"https:\/\/img1.ak.crunchyroll.com\/i\/spire1\/daa9f4fc3ec006da7b232dfa3c7efbcd1678131927_main.png\" style=\"width: 640px;height: 362px\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>All Might is forced to retire after pushing past his limit in his battle against All For One. Of course, that fight was a long time coming, and All Might didn&rsquo;t have much of a choice, but I can&rsquo;t help but wonder how things would&rsquo;ve played out had he slowed down sooner. Not only was he doing (limited) hero work while teaching, we find out in Season 4 that he was <strong>told<\/strong> to slow down <strong>years ago<\/strong>!&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Why couldn&rsquo;t he just listen to Sir Nighteye and everyone else? Then I think about myself and realize that, oh, working past the point of exhaustion is my unintentional jam.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Adulthood is often depicted as the time in your life when you finally have a handle on everything. What that image fails to reveal is that we&rsquo;re always working toward becoming our best selves and that journey isn&rsquo;t an easy one.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Yagi Toshinori\" src=\"https:\/\/img1.ak.crunchyroll.com\/i\/spire2\/ab2268c34ae186156e258e74a25a69251678132010_main.png\" style=\"width: 640px;height: 360px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Many adults will tell you that their life isn&rsquo;t made up of larger-than-life smiles and fanfare, but instead of receiving compassion for the hardships we face, we&rsquo;re told to toughen up; stop being so sensitive.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It only takes one episode of <em><strong>My Hero Academia<\/strong><\/em> to learn that All Might&rsquo;s smile hides the pain, a tactic that I&rsquo;ve employed more than once. You can only smile for so long before you come up against an All For One that forces you to accept the truth: You can&rsquo;t be All Might forever. In fact, no one can.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>But to me, the real power isn&rsquo;t with All Might&hellip; it&rsquo;s with Yagi Toshinori.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Actual_Lesson\"><\/span><span style=\"font-size:26px\"><strong>The Actual Lesson<\/strong><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Yagi Toshinori hugging Deku\" src=\"https:\/\/img1.ak.crunchyroll.com\/i\/spire1\/97ac29b3066495bb6979e87f15fa21f41678132080_main.png\" style=\"width: 640px;height: 360px\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>During the incident with the Sludge Villain, Deku inspires All Might to <em>go beyond<\/em>. The withered hero pushes through the pain to win the day, telling us that this is what it means to be a hero. I fully expected this to be the main thesis of the entire <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a>&hellip; until Deku got into U.A., met Aizawa, and was told the exact opposite. What good is a broken-down hero? Stop pushing past your limits and figure out what you can do <em>right now<\/em>!&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>To me, that&rsquo;s what that iconic phrase means. Go beyond, yes, but within the parameters of what you can do right now. Once you&rsquo;re content with the progress you&rsquo;ve made, <em>go beyond<\/em>. Take it to the next level when you&rsquo;re able to. Don&rsquo;t rush the process, <em>trust it<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This is a necessary lesson for both Deku and All Might, and while Deku is beginning to learn (urm&#8230; <em>kinda<\/em>, we&rsquo;ll get to that), it&rsquo;s too late for All Might&hellip; at least the All Might who stands as a behemoth amongst the populace.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>But it&rsquo;s not too late for Yagi Toshinori.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><em>RELATED:&nbsp;<span style=\"color:#f39c12\">All You Need to Know About My Hero Academia&rsquo;s Paranormal Liberation War<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Toshinori&rsquo;s got time to not only embrace this idea, but instill it in the next generation. This is highlighted in <em>Deku vs. Kacchan, Part 2<\/em>, where he admits his shortcomings and encourages the two young heroes to work <strong>together<\/strong>. It&rsquo;s not possible for one person to be the symbol society needs. Instead, it&rsquo;s up to <em>everyone<\/em> to uphold the ideals that weighed Toshinori down when he was revered as All Might.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I &mdash; and many others &mdash; think we have to do it all, alone, with a smile. We don&rsquo;t. You don&rsquo;t.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>All Might&rsquo;s most influential moments aren&rsquo;t based on his bravado, they&rsquo;re based on what he does as a person who not only wants what&rsquo;s best for society but as someone who doesn&rsquo;t want a better world to come at the cost of the young people he&rsquo;s trying to take care of.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>That&rsquo;s where the anime is right now. Yagi Toshinori is driving around in the rain, delivering lunch to Deku and, in his most badass moment <em>ever<\/em>, in my opinion, standing up to villains so he can make sure Deku is taking care of himself. He&rsquo;s not there to remind Deku to keep pursuing the threat, he&rsquo;s there to make sure he&rsquo;s eating and sleeping.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Yagi Toshinori\" src=\"https:\/\/img1.ak.crunchyroll.com\/i\/spire4\/571cb91f39ee1e7b92216786df9cd8db1678132109_main.jpg\" style=\"width: 640px;height: 360px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I don&rsquo;t think I&rsquo;ll ever forget the image of Yagi Toshinori, in front of an explosion, telling his would-be attackers to <strong>move<\/strong> because he refuses to let Deku fight alone.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>So thank you, All Might, for <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/trip-and-travel\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"10\" title=\"Trip &amp; Travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">trip<\/a>ping over your cape the way I do so often.
