It is now a blossoming sector for people of all backgrounds, interests &#8211; and genders.<\/p>\n<p>Women have been entering the space in droves to find financial freedom from traditional systems and help create the future of digital interactions.<\/p>\n<p>In an exclusive interview with Cointelegraph Binance co-founder and chief communication strategy officer Yi He touched on what it&#8217;s like to be a woman the head of one of the crypto industry\u2019s biggest organizations.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to her conversation with Cointelegraph Yi He tweeted that in the crypto space as we know it only \u201c5% of founders are female\u201d and she\u2019s proud to be a part of that statistic.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Only 5% of crypto founders are female. I\u2019m part of the statistic \u2014 and I\u2019m proud. <\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re paving a path for other women to stand bold in the blockchain space. And we\u2019re just getting started. <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/BuildTogether?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#BuildTogether<\/a> <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/InternationalWomensDay?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#InternationalWomensDay<\/a> <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/T8MwZ2sqvP\">pic.twitter.com\/T8MwZ2sqvP<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Yi He (@heyibinance) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/heyibinance\/status\/1632768198125690881?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 6, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>Like many in the crypto space, Yi He came from a field outside of financial <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/technology\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"4\" title=\"Technology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">technology<\/a>. She recalled her roots in television broadcasting and further explained how her family had expectations of her to become a teacher.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>However, she said once she discovered Bitcoin and the possibilities of decentralized finance, her life took a different turn. <\/p>\n<p>To women who want to enter the space, but feel a sense of hesitancy due to a lack of familiarity with the space and its jargon or are afraid of a gender bias Yi says: <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cNever set a limit on yourself.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>As an executive at one of crypto\u2019s leading institutions, Yi says there are three key components women should focus on for success in the industry: mindset, growth management and decision-making.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Particularly mindset Yi said to be assertive and achieve the goals you set out for yourself and your team, \u201ctake ownership and be a problem solver.\u201d <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cForget your gender. Don\u2019t focus on the fact that you\u2019re a woman in a man\u2019s world. Instead, focus on how to be a good business leader, regardless of being a man or woman.\u201d <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Yi He said that now at Binance, one of the crypto space\u2019s largest entities, nearly 30% of senior leaders are women, and directly report to CZ.
